Marienberg Fortress and the Museum for Franconia
Marienberg Fortress, Würzburg’s landmark, looks back on a history spanning more than 1,000 years. Over the centuries, Marienberg Fortress has become the city’s proud symbol and attracts many visitors. Young knights can touch or try on helmets, pointed hats and bishops’ staffs, or set off on a treasure hunt in the Museum for Franconia to discover precious artefacts and mysterious treasure chests. During the school holidays, interactive guided tours are offered for children aged six to twelve.

Exciting escape games, pit-pat and poolball can also be tried out here, either individually or as part of a children’s birthday celebration. Located in the south of Würzburg, the traditional Dallenbergbad is affectionately known by locals as the “Dalle.” Where a brickworks once stood, a spacious outdoor swimming pool now invites visitors to cool off, relax and enjoy themselves. Those keen on sport can make use of a 50-metre pool with ten lanes, as well as an impressive diving tower with platforms ranging from one to ten metres. Thrills are provided by the 140-metre-long giant slide, while younger swimmers can splash about in the children’s paddling pool. A beach volleyball court and a kiosk round off the facilities.
