Original Set of "Das Boot"

During the ninety-minute guided tours, a guide will let you in on the details of filming. He shows you original decorations and scenery streets. Such as those from “Jim Knopf und Lukas der Lokomotivführer” (Jim Knopf and Lukas the Locomotive Driver) and the new adventure “Jim Knopf und die Wild 13” (Jim Knopf and the Wild 13). Or currently “Die Zauberflöte” (The Magic Flute).

A new feature is the walk-in space station – modelled on the International Space Station (ISS) – from the film “Stowaway”, which tells the story of a journey to Mars.

Germany’s coolest classroom is not to be missed: the film sets from the German “Fack ju Göhte” films. And the “Boat” (from the 1981 film "Das Boot")! During your tour you will visit the original setting of the submarine U96.

Bavaria Filmstadt also offers special exclusive tours for families who want to discover the studios alone. A personal tour guide and a visit to the 4D cinema are included. The tour can only be purchased on site at the box office.

Become a Film Star Yourself

In the 4D cinema you can experience the new ten-minute animated film “Mogli’s Jungle Adventure”. The combination of visual, optical and mechanical effects in one cinema can only be found in the Bavaria Filmstadt. You’ll be right there when Mowgli and the panther lady Bagheera race against each other. Mowgli will use any means to win. A palm leaf is used as a parachute, vines as ropes and a waterfall as a slide. You will feel true to life in the cinema seats, which move in sync with the action. There are also special effects, great sound and sharp 3D images.

And those who want to play film star themselves can test their talent in front of the camera under professional guidance. You can choose between a film workshop (up to 25 participants and up to 4,200 euros) or an individual film project (by arrangement).
