Explore the nature of the Allgäu on a 475 km route and cycle through six districts in Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg and the Tyrol. This extensive network of paths offers standard signposting. The Way of St. James
The Bavarian Swabian Way of St. James forms part of the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela. For around 150 km it passes through Bavarian Swabia - from Ries through the Lech plains and on two different routes on into the Allgäu.

Upper Swabian Baroque Route
The Upper Swabian Baroque Route (Oberschwäbische Barockstraße) was created in 1966 as one of the first culture and holiday routes. It encompasses monasteries, abbeys and churches, castles and aristocratic residences as well as beautiful scenery. The eastern route also connects Bavarian towns such as Memmingen, Ottobeuren and Kempten.

The Cheese Route
“From the Alps to Lake Constance”, this signposted route meanders through the landscape between Oberstaufen, Scheidegg and Lindau. It represents a network of producers and marketers of quality agricultural products featuring twelve Alpine pasture dairies and five farm-based cheese dairies. The 150 km route has seven selected stages – which can be done on two wheels, four wheels or on foot.
