Weltenburg is a special place where the spiritual and intellectual power of the monastery and the associated monastery church meet the beauty of the river landscape of the Danube river.This all is best accompanied by the oldest monastery brewery in the world and its excellent beers and our monastery tavern. Enjoy our hospitality, our food and drinks in the unique atmosphere of this magical place. All guests are welcome, wether pilgrims, cyclists, hikers and excursionists or travel groups.

  • There is the possibility to park in the large car park in the Weltenburg village. This is about 800 m from the monastery or the monastery tavern. In addition, the monastery offers a shuttle service, which can be called during opening hours of the monastery tavern by calling 09441 6757-0.
  • The path from the large car park to the entrance of the Wirtschaftshof St. Georg is 800 m long. It is easy to walk and drive on. 
  • The next bus stop is 1200 m away.
  • In 450 m distance you will find the landing stage "Kloster Weltenburger". The ship is only operated seasonally.
  • The building is steplessly accessible via
    the entrance at the tavern and via the entrance at the kiosk via a treshold of 2 cm.
  • All evaluated rooms and facilities available to the guests are steplessly accessible or via a ramp.
  • The ramp at the entrance to  the restaurants has a maximum gradient of 10% and a total length of 3.20 m. It can be used as wheelchair accessible entrance to the Barocksaal. 
  • All evaluated passageways/doors available to the guests are at least 68 cm wide.
  • The cash desk at the kiosk is 89 cm high..
  • External paths between tavern and kiosk, to the public toilet as well as to the restaurant are easy to walk on and drive on (partly cobblestone) and have a maximum longitudinal gradient of up to 5 %.
  • There are wheelchair accessible tables available in the beergarden (maximum height 80 cm, wheelchair accessible at a height of 67 cm and a depth of 30 cm), but none in the indoor-restaurant.

Public toilet for people with disabilities (access from outside)

  • The toilet door can be opened with an Euro-key. The key is available at the kiosk and the office of the Klosterschenke.
  • The manoeuvring spaces are:
    in front of the toilet and the washbasin at least 130 cm x 150 cm;
    left of the toilet 97 cm x 64 cm and right of the toilet 18 cm x 64 cm.
  • There is a grab rail on the left side of the toilet. The grab rail cannot be flipped-up.
  • The sink is wheelchair compatible.
  • The mirror is not visible while sitting.
  • An alarm trigger is not available.

  • Assistance dogs are allowed in the beer garden (leashes required).
  • The entrances are visually rich in contrast and recognizable by a tactile change of floor covering.
  • All evaluated and usable areas for the guest are well illuminated, i.e. bright and glare-free.
  • There are no visually contrasting or tactilely detectable floor indicators available.
  • The menu font in the restaurant/café is not straightforward and visually rich in contrast.
  • Information is not available in Braille or prismatic font.

  • There is no alarm.
  • In the beegarden as well as the indoor-restaurant there are tables with bright and glare-free lighting, on which there are no lamps standing or hanging that interfere with the field of vision or eye contact.
  • There is a seating area with low background noises (e.g. corner seating, separate room) in the beergarden but not in the indoor-restaurant.
