Wonderful natural scenery - idyllic places - hiking fun for young and old!

The Forest Idyll Trail appeals to all human senses while hiking and convinces with its naturalness and beauty. Along the way, hikers young and old discover 5 exciting stations that offer interesting information on the following topics and encourage them to try them out:

Vegetation - History - Geology - Water - Salt. 

The path can be walked all year round, regardless of the weather. The paths are cleared in winter. Moreover, it can be walked from both sides - always along the stream.

  • This is a circular route. 
  • The entire trail is 2.9 km long.
  • Starting point: Hiking center Bayerisch Gmain (WZ8), Alpentalstrasse
  • Parking lot hiking center: There are no marked parking spaces for people with disabilities.
  • There is a bus stop 600 m away.
  • The path is step-free. However, the adventure stations "Water" and "Salt" are only accessible via steps.
  • The path is and mainly easy to walk and drive on (water-bound surface).
  • The path has several longitudinal slopes over 6% and has a maximum longitudinal slope of up to 20% over 60 meters.
  • The path is mostly at least 240 cm wide. 
  • There are sloping areas without handrails. 
  • There are depressions in the ground at right angles to the direction of travel (drainage channel) with a width of 13 cm. 
  • The path is not designated for bicyclists, skaters, etc., or equestrians.
  • The path runs for 210 m on a road hardly used by motor vehicles.
  • No crossing of a road with motor vehicle traffic is necessary. 
  • A railroad line must be crossed. 
  • There are seating areas at intervals of up to 300 m.
  • The trail is signposted throughout and without interruption. 
  • The adventure stations are predominantly visible, perceptible or recognizable from a seated position. Exception: The experience stations "Water" and "Salt" are only accessible via steps. 
  • The information (information boards and signposts) are predominantly readable and visible from a seated position.

Experience station "Water

  • The adventure station "Water" is accessible via an approx. 30 m long path (detour). 
  • The wooden plank path is easy to walk and drive on. 
  • The path is mostly at least 100 cm wide. 
  • There are eight steps. The stairs do not have a handrail.
