Hiking trail Colmberg

Description

Two beautiful, level and well-driveable circular paths lead through the forest from the Colmberg hiking car park near the castle. The longer route is 2.3 km (red markings) and the short loop 1.4 km (blue markings).

The two circular routes are suitable for wheelchairs, prams and walking frames. The wide forest paths, covered with firm sand, are level, without a bulge in the middle and have a very low gradient.   Information boards with bird calls or on topics such as forest management, newt pools and more provide variety. Many beautiful benches offer the possibility to rest or to linger and enjoy nature.

Directions: Starting point is the hiking car park above the village of Colmberg. The barrier-free hiking trail is signposted from the main road. Drive uphill, past the castle in the direction of Berndorf. In the left-hand bend, follow the signs to the hiking trail on the right. Next handicapped accessible WC: Colmberg town hall and Frankenhöhe information centre (Am Kirchberg 4).
