Nowhere else in the Bavarian Forest National Park does this work as magnificently as in the WALDSPIELGELÄNDE.  The approximately 50-hectare adventure area holds countless adventures in store.  Just the right thing for a family outing - whatever the season!

  • Two parking spaces for people with disabilities are available at the "Waldspielgelände" visitor parking lot. These are located 10 m from the starting point of the trails.

General information about the trails

  • The paths do not run along roads used by motor vehicles.
  • It is not necessary to cross any roads.
  • Neither trail is designated for cyclists, skaters etc. or horse riders.
  • Guided tours are offered for people with walking disabilities and wheelchair users. These must be registered with the National Park Guide Service.

"Tagpfauenauge" circular trail

  • The circular trail is approx. 2.1 km long and at least 200 cm wide.
  • The start and end point is the "Waldspielgelände" visitor parking lot.
  • The circular trail is signposted throughout (peacock symbol).
  • The path is stepless.
  • There is a maximum longitudinal gradient of 10% over 300 m. There are further longitudinal gradients of over 6%.
  • Sections 1 and 2 are generally easy to walk and drive on (water-bound surface). Section 3 leads over forest paths and is not easy to walk and drive on.
  • There are no handrails on steep sections.
  • In the first two sections, seating is provided at regular intervals.

Nature experience trail

  • The trail is approx. 2.1 km long.
  • The starting point is the "Waldspielgelände" visitor parking lot. The end point is the forest meadow; from there you can take the "Tagpfauenauge" circular trail back to the "Waldspielgelände" visitor parking lot (approx. 1,000 m) or you can walk back along the nature trail.
  • The nature trail is signposted throughout (squirrel symbol on a leaf).
  • The path is stepless except for section 2. In this section there is a staircase with seven steps of 20 cm each. The steps are easy to avoid on the forest road.
  • The maximum longitudinal gradient is 10% over a length of 50 m. There are further longitudinal gradients of over 6%.
  • The path is mostly 150 cm wide, in narrower places only 100 cm (over a length of at least 50 m).
  • The path is mostly not easy to walk or drive on.
  • There are embankments and steep sections that are not secured.
  • Seating is available in regular sections.

Public WCs for people with disabilities

  • The doors are 98 cm wide. 
  • The manoeuvring spaces are:
    in front of the WC 160 cm x 112 cm;
    82 cm x 49 cm to the left of the WC; there is no manoeuvring space to the right.
  • There are grab rails to the left and right of the WC. The left grab rail can be folded up.

  • There are no visually contrasting or tactilely perceptible boundaries along the route.
  • Information is not available in Braille or prismatic writing.
  • Guided tours are offered for visually impaired and blind people. These must be registered with the National Park Guide Service.
