Forest Experience Centre Füssen-Ziegelwies
Description
The experience center offers educational trails that explain the protective functions of the forest in a playful way, as well as an exhibition about the forest and a geology exhibition.
The Ziegelwies forest experience center is located in the south of Germany, in the small town of Füssen in Bavaria. The forest experience center has three very different experience paths. The focus of the trails is on different topics and functions of the forest. The Ziegelwies forest experience center primarily appeals to families with children. But best agers and seniors as well as young couples without children also get their money's worth here and can experience a wonderful day in the forest. Whether feeling, touching, hearing or smelling, experience the forest and its functions with all your senses and spend a wonderful forest day at the Füssen-Ziegelwies forest experience center. In addition to the free and publicly accessible toilets in the building annex, there is a spacious toilet suitable for persons with disabilities in the exhibition building. The experience center also has spacious parking space for people with disabilities.

- There are three marked parking spaces for people with disabilities. The parking lot is not easy to walk and drive on.
- There is a bus stop 80 meters away.
- The ticket office is 75 cm high.
- Guided tours are offered for people with walking disabilities, but not for wheelchair users. Advance booking is necessary.
Exhibition building
- All evaluated rooms and facilities available to the guests are accessible without steps.
- All evaluated passageways/doors available to the guests are at least 88 cm wide.
- The exhibits are predominantly visible when seated. Most information can be read while seated.
Public WC for people with disabilities (in the exhibition building)
- The manoeuvring spaces are:
in front of the washbasin 114 cm x 138 cm; in front of the WC 118 cm x 141 cm;
to the left of the WC 21 cm x 72 cm; to the right of the WC 71 cm x 72 cm. - There are grab rails to the left and right of the WC. The grab rail on the right can be folded up.
- The washbasin is wheelchair compatible.
- There is a cord as an alarm trigger.
Forest snack bar
- The building is steplessly accessible.
- All evaluated passageways/doors available to the guests are at least 100 cm wide.
- There are wheelchair compatible tables (maximum height 80 cm, wheelchair compatible at a height of 67 cm with a depth of 30 cm).
Treetop path
- The path is 480 m long and at least 182 cm wide.
- It is easy to walk and drive on (wooden planks).
- There are inclines and declines of between 6% and 13% over a length of 10 to 20 meters.
- Seating is available.
Alluvial forest path ("Auwaldpfad")
- The circular path is 1.5 km long, 200 cm wide and without steps.
- It is mostly easy to walk and drive on (water-bound surface).
- There are inclines and declines of up to 13% over a length of 25 m. The maximum cross slope is 10%.
- There are 12 seats along the path section. The maximum distance between the seats is 400 m.
- There is no road to cross.
- The stations can mainly be experienced while seated.
- The trail is signposted throughout.
Mountain forest trail ("Bergwaldpfad")
- The circular trail is 2.5 km long, 180 cm wide and without steps.
- It is mostly easy to walk and drive on (water-bound surface). There are several drainage channels.
- There are inclines and declines of up to 20% over a length of 50 m.
- There are embankments and they are not secured.
- There are 5 seats in the path section. The maximum distance between the seating areas is 800 m.
- There is no road to cross.
- The stations can mainly be experienced while seated.
- The trail is signposted throughout.
