All areas relevant for testing meet the quality criteria of the label "Accessibility certified - accessible for people with walking disabilities and wheelchair users ".

Some information on accessibility are listed below. For detailed information please see the evaluation report.

  • There is no parking available directly at the museum.
  • The parking lot at the station is about 250 m away.
  • The stationSchliersee including busstop is 250 m away.
  • The building is accessible via a treshold of 3,5 cm.
  • All evaluated rooms and facilities available to the guests are steplessly accessible or via an elevator.
  • The elevator cabin measures 110 cm x 150 cm. The elevator door is 90 cm wide.
  • All evaluated passageways/doors available to the guests are at least 90 cm wide.
  • There are wheelchair accessible tables available in the event room (maximum height 80 cm, wheelchair accessible at a height of 67 cm and a depth of 30 cm).

Public toilet for people with disabilities

  • The manoeuvring spaces are:
    in front of the toilet and the washbasin at least 150 cm x 150 cm;
    left of the toilet 100 cm x 70 cm, and right of the toilet 100 cm x 42 cm.
  • There are grab rails available on the right and left of the toilet. The grab rails can be flipped-up.
  • The sink is wheelchair compatible.
  • The mirror can be seen while standing or sitting.
  • An alarm trigger is available.

  • Assistance dogs are allowed in relevant areas/rooms.
  • The entrance. Is not visually rich in contrast, but recognizable by a tactile change of floor covering.
  • Almost all evaluated and usable areas for the guest are well illuminated, i.e. bright and glare-free. Exceptions: The elevator is not well illuminated.
  • The operating elements (e.g. door handles, light switches, emergency call buttons) are visually rich in contrast throughout the entire building/object. Almost everywhere the operating elements are tactilely detectable.
  • The corridors are not visually rich in contrast, but tactilely detectable.almost everywhere throughout the entire building/object.
  • An outgoing emergency call in the elevator is confirmed audibly.
  • The break position is announced by spoken commands.
  • The operating controls are visually rich in contrast and tactilely detectable.
  • Alternatively stairs are available.
  • At least at the first and last step, stairs have visually contrasting edges.
  • Stairs have handrails on both sides.

  • There is no audio induction loop system in the (conference) rooms.
  • An outgoing emergency call in the elevator is confirmed audibly.
