Vacation Inspiration "Tradition and Modernity - Southern Old Town"

Destination Nuremberg

Description

Get to know the traditional side of Nuremberg while discovering the amenities of a modern city at the same time.

Check in at Le Méridien Grand Hotel Nuremberg: located directly at the main train station, it combines historic charm with modern comfort. The magnificent Art Nouveau building offers elegant rooms, first-class cuisine, and is an ideal starting point for exploring the old town. Or would you rather take care of yourself? Then the Melter Hotel & Apartments is a good choice. Here you’ll find minimalist modern apartments with kitchenettes in a historical setting.

From these accommodations in the historical Old Town, you’ll reach the German Rail Museum with a 15-minute walk. An exciting trip from the beginnings of rail travel in Germany to the most modern technology of today is waiting here for you. The vehicle collection of the oldest train museum in the country displays more than 30 treasures from the history of Germany’s railways.

After a visit to the museum, enjoy light Franconian dishes and excellent wines in the Hotel & Wine Restaurant Steichele. This traditional inn is now in the hands of the fifth generation of the Steichele family and is only a 10-minute walk away from the German Rail Museum.

The staff of Tourist Information on the Main Market Square will be happy to give you additional inspiring ideas.
