The Hallertau is the largest contiguous hop-growing region in the world! It has a lot to offer, especially for groups: At the Stiglmaier Hop Farm, you can experience the hop plant with all your senses and learn fascinating facts about its cultivation and harvest. In Abensberg, you can enjoy the bustling city life at the many folk festivals and markets. On a guided tour through the winding alleys and along the medieval city wall with its towers, you’ll immerse yourself in the city’s long history. The historic Herzogskasten is home to the city museum. This, too, is worth a visit.The most striking tower in Abensberg is the Kuchlbauer Tower. It was designed byAustrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser and is the landmark ofthe Kuchlbauer wheat beer brewery.

Getting There and Local Transportation:

Abensberg has a barrier-free train station.
