Description

The Hallertau hop region stretches between Regensburg, Ingolstadt, Munich, and Landshut and is the largest continuous hop-growing region around the world. Here, the hop farmers have been harvesting the "green gold of the Hallertau" in midsummer for centuries. Throughout the year, there is a lot of work to do on the farms with their distinctive hop gardens. Because from spring to harvest time in midsummer, the hops grow up to seven meters high on the taut wires. An achievement that hardly any other plant on earth can match. Experience urban hustle and bustle in Abensberg. The historic city is also often referred to as the "gateway to the Hallertau". Here, the Kuchlbauer Wheat Beer Brewery had a tower with a golden dome designed by the Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser. Today, the Kuchlbauer Tower is the landmark of the brewery and a homage to the Bavarian beer.

The two hop farms are around 22 km and 30 km away respectively. A journey by car is recommended here. Otherwise, the taxi company MH Taxi Kelheim offers wheelchair transport and stretcher van rides.
