Großer Arber summit

Holiday inspiration "Gipfelstürmer in the ARBERLAND"

Bavarain Forest

Description

"To the top" in Arberland

To the "King of the Bavarian Forest!" That's what the Großer Arber - at 1,456 m the highest peak in the Bavarian Forest - is called. Thanks to the gondola and panorama lift, the summit is accessible without barriers. Enjoy the unique view over the region, to the Czech Republic and some days even to the Alps! The Eisensteiner Hütte below the summit invites you to a cozy stop for refreshments.

A little further down lies the Großer Arbersee with its famous "floating islands", which you can walk around on a barrier-free path, before you treat yourself to a homemade cake in the Arberseehaus.

Right in Bayerisch Eisenstein, in the former border station, you can visit the NaturparkWelten (Nature Park Worlds) - with five different exhibition levels that illustrate the diversity of the Bavarian Forest Nature Park and the history of the border station in an exciting way.

Arrival and mobility on site:

You can arrive by car or comfortably by train. From the train station you can reach the accommodation by bus or taxi.

In the National Park area you can also use the Igel bus. Many buses are low-floor. However, not all platforms and not all buses are barrier-free. If you are unsure, please contact the companies listed in the timetable before setting off!
