Tourist Information at Passau Main Station

Description

A spacious and newly equipped tourist information office with handicapped accessible awaits visitors directly opposite Passau's main train station.

One of Passau's two tourist information offices is located directly opposite the main train station and is accessible without barriers. The premises are accessible without steps via automatic doors and a lowered counter is available. Assistance dogs are welcome here. The Tourist Information is located on the first floor of Europapatz and is part of the Donau Quartier building complex with refreshment and shopping facilities. In the spacious and barrier-free interior, guests will find all relevant information about the city, the district of Passau as well as Upper Austria and will be advised on site, by phone or e-mail. A handicapped accessible parking lot and a handicapped accessible WC (Euro key) are located at the main station.   • There is a parking space for people with disabilities (space size: 350 cm x 500 cm). The parking space is 90 m away from the entrance.
  • The surface condition of the car park is not low-vibration and not easy to walk and drive on. 
  • There is a ramp on the path between the car park and the TI. The ramp has a maximum gradient of 6.7%, a usable walking width of 140 cm and a total length of 8 m. There are no intermediate landings. There are no intermediate landings. 
  • The entrance to the TI is step-free (max. 2 cm threshold, if necessary via a ramp). 
  • All rooms and facilities that can be used and raised for the guest are accessible without steps. Door thresholds are max. 1 cm high. 
  • Passages and doors are at least 90 cm wide. 
  • The information counter is 73 cm high at the lowest point. There is another, equivalent communication option available in a seated position.

Public toilet for people with disabilities at the main station, platform 1

  • The toilet door can be opened with a euro key.
  • The manoeuvring spaces are:
    in front of the washbasin 185 cm x 175 cm;
    in front of the toilet 175 cm x 185 cm;
    to the left of the toilet 107 cm x 70 cm;
    to the right of the toilet 106 cm x 70 cm.
  • There are grab rails to the left and right of the toilet.
  • Both grab rails can be folded up. 
  • The washbasin is accessible from underneath at a height of 67 cm and a depth of at least 30 cm.
  • The mirror can be viewed while sitting or standing.
  • There is a cord as an alarm trigger.

  • Assistance dogs (companion dogs, guide dogs for the blind, etc.) may be brought into all relevant areas/rooms of the establishment/offer. 
  • There are glass doors with no safety markings at a height of 40-70 cm and 120-160 cm.
  • The entrance area is recognisable by a tactilely perceptible change of flooring and visually contrasting with the surroundings. 
  • There are no visually contrasting or tactilely detectable floor indicators. 
  • All raised areas that can be used by the guest (entrance area, cash desk/counter, bedrooms, corridors, hallways) are well lit, i.e. bright and glare-free.
  • The signage is designed in easily legible lettering. There is a good visual contrast between the lettering/pictogram and the background.

  • There is no audio induction loop system.  
  • In case of fire alarm, there is no visually clearly perceptible alarm.
