Getting there

Half-way between Munich and Frankfurt, Nuremberg is easy to reach via road, rail, air or water.

  • Nuremberg is a hub in the national train network. The modern Main Train Station is located at the gateway to the Old Town can be reached by a 15-minute walk from the heart of the Old Town. All platforms have stair-free access (elevators), dynamic train information screens, public address systems, tactile handrail signage and tactile guidance systems (except for Platforms 2 and 3), high-contrast routing systems and stair markings. The platform height on almost all platforms is ≥ 55 cm.
  • National and international bus transportation to and from Nuremberg arrives at the Central Bus Station (ZOB). From here, it is only a 15-minute walk to the historic heart of the Old Town. The Central Bus Station has tactile paving for the blind and a barrier-free toilet.
  • The international Albrecht Dürer Airport is only a 12-minute underground ride from the city center. An underground station (Line U2) and taxi stands are located directly in front of the terminals.
  • Nuremberg has optimal connections by road – Via motorways (Autobahn) A3, A6, A9 and A 73 you can easily arrive in the city. A parking guidance system around the Old Town provides information about available parking spots.
