Animal outdoor area in Lusen

National Park Center

Description

Directly near Neuschönau you will find one of the most beautiful and interesting visitor facilities in the Bavarian Forest. On an area of over 200 hectares between Neuschönau and Altschönau you will find the large open-air animal area of the Bavarian Forest National Park, in which around 40 different bird and mammal species from the local animal world live in 17 large enclosures and aviaries. In the spacious landscape enclosures (pure enclosure surface approx. 40 hectares) with nature near habitat scenery the inhabitants can live according to their own daily rhythm - running, climbing, bathing, sleeping and also once totally retreat. Informative boards at the enclosures arrange besides much worth knowing about the inhabitants of the animal free area. The circular path through the animal enclosure is about 7 km long.
