Oberstdorf Thermal Baths

All areas relevant for testing meet the quality criteria of the label "Accessibility certified - partially accessible for people with walking disabilities and wheelchair users".  

Some information on accessibility are listed below. For detailed information please see the evaluation report.

• There are two parking spaces available for people with disabilities.
• The Therme/Prinzenstraße bus stop is located 100 meters away. 
• All rooms and facilities accessible to guests are either step-free/at ground level or accessible via an elevator. Some pools can only be reached via steps.
• There are no slopes steeper than 6%.
• All doors, passageways, and pathways accessible to guests are at least 90 cm wide, or alternatives are provided.
• A restroom for people with disabilities is available.  
• The toilet in this restroom is accessible from both sides (at least 80 cm). Fold-down grab bars are available on both the left and right sides of the toilet.
• The shower in the restroom for people with disabilities is accessible without steps. Grab bars are available in the shower. A shower seat is provided.
• To enter the swimming pools, there are shallow steps with a handrail or a ladder with a handrail.  
• A passenger lift is available to access the lap pool, the adventure pool, and the outdoor pool.  
• In the sauna, the manoeuvring space in front of the lower bench is usually at least 120 cm x 120 cm. 
• There is a public restroom for people with disabilities that is accessible from both sides (at least 80 cm). There are fold-down grab bars to the left and right of the toilet.

• Outdoor walkways usually have a visually high-contrast or tactile edge marking. 
• Service dogs are not permitted.
• The entrance area is designed with high visual contrast.
• Signage (for wayfinding) is designed with clearly legible, high-contrast lettering.
• All elevated areas accessible to guests are illuminated with bright, glare-free lighting.
• An emergency call made from the elevator is confirmed by an audible signal.
• Stairs have visually high-contrast edges on at least the first and last steps.
• Stairs have a handrail on at least one side.
• The font on the menu is simple and designed with high visual contrast.
• The edges of the pools are set off with high visual contrast.  
• To enter the swimming pools, there are steps with a handrail or a ladder with a handrail.
• Information is not available in braille or raised lettering.

• In the event of an audible alarm, there is no additional visual flashing or strobe signal.
• There is no audio induction loop system. 
• Wi-Fi is available.
• An emergency call made from the elevator is confirmed only by an audible signal. Stairs are available as an alternative.
