Just  50 minutes' drive from Munich Airport, located between Ingolstadt and  Regensburg and easily reached via the motorway, THE MONARCH HOTEL is the  ideal starting point for exploring trips.
Bad Gögging is far more than a health resort in Lower Bavaria. In  the center of a worldwide unique cultural landscape of Altmühl and  Danube valley with its traditional hop gardens and asparagus fields, Bad  Gögging is a hot tip for recreation and health. 

 The house offers 310 comfortable rooms and suites with a cozy ambience. The rooms, some with balconies overlooking the courtyard, garden or pool. Room amenities include: bath / shower / toilet, hairdryer, satellite TV, SKY  Bundesliga, direct dial telephone, clock radio, partly minibar, desk and  safe. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel. 

11 rooms are wheelchair accessible. The whole house is wheelchair accessible. 

The restaurants offer daily changing buffet dinner and a full breakfast buffet in the morning.

Excellent pies and ice cream can be enjoyed in the CAFÉ SOPHIE throughout the day.

For more relaxing THE MONARCH SPA offers an indoor and outdoor pool with mineral water, saunas, solarium and various massages and treatments.

Some information on accessibility are listed below. For detailed information please see the evaluation report.

  • There are two designated parking spaces for people with disabilities in the underground car park (space size: 478 cm x 720 cm) and two in the Convention Center (350 cm x 500 cm).
  • The hotel is accessible without steps.
  • All rooms and facilities that can be used and raised for the guest are accessible at ground level or via lifts.
  • The cabin of the main lift is 128 cm x 238 cm. The lift door is 130 cm wide.
  • All doors/passages that can be used by guests and are raised are at least 90 cm wide (exception: door in the changing area with a width of 69 cm). 
  • The reception is 115 cm high at the lowest point.
  • There are flat steps with handrails to enter the (swimming) pool(s).
  • In the sauna area there is a movement area in front of the lower bench of at least 150 cm x 150 cm. 
  • In the Maria Theresia and Empress Elisabeth II restaurants there are tables that can be accessed from below (maximum height 80 cm, accessibility from below at a height of 67 cm and a depth of 30 cm).
  • At the swimming pools there are flat steps with handrails to enter the pool.
  • Aids available: rollator.

Rooms 3324 and 4373

  • There are 11 more rooms of approximately the same design.
  • The doors are at least 90 cm wide. 
  • The manoeuvring spaces are:
    in front of essential, fixed furnishings (e.g. cupboard) 90 cm x 157 cm;
    to the left of the bed 290 cm x 158 cm;
    on the right, the bed is against the wall.
  • A nursing bed is not available.
  • The manoeuvring spaces in the bathroom are:
    in front of the toilet 252 cm x 140 cm;
    in front of the washbasin 157 cm x 250 cm;
    171 cm x 52 cm to the right of the toilet, there is no movement area to the left.
  • There are grab rails to the left and right of the toilet. The grab rails to the right of the toilet can be folded up.
  • The washbasin is accessible from underneath.
  • The mirror can be seen while standing or sitting.
  • The shower is accessible without thresholds. The manoeuvring spaces in the shower are 150 cm x 150 cm and there is a shower seat as well as grab rails and an alarm trigger.
  • Other showers - also for people with disabilities - are located in the spa and swimming area.

Public toilet for people with disabilities (1st floor) 

  • The door is at least 93 cm wide.
  • The manoeuvring spaces are:
    in front of the toilet 214 cm x 264 cm;
    in front of the washbasin 264 cm x 180 cm;
    86 cm x 53 cm to the right of the toilet,
    there is no movement area to the left.
  • Grab rails are provided to the left and right of the toilet. The grab rails can be folded up.
  • The washbasin is accessible from underneath.
  • The mirror can be seen while standing or sitting.
  • There is no alarm trigger. 

Public toilet for people with disabilities in dining/bar and conference area (2nd floor)

  • The door is at least 95 cm wide.
  • The manoeuvring spaces are:
    in front of the washbasin 230 cm x 160 cm;
    in front of the toilet 206 cm x 230 cm;
    to the left of the toilet 40 cm x 50 cm;
    to the right of the toilet 15 cm x 70 cm.
  • There are grab rails to the left and right of the toilet.
  • The left grab rail can be folded up. 
  • The sink is wheelchair compatible.
  • The mirror can be seen while sitting or standing.
  • There is a cord as an alarm trigger. 

Spa - Public toilet for people with disabilities in the swimming pool area (1st floor)

  • The door is at least 93 cm wide.
  • The manoeuvring spaces are:
    in front of the washbasin 200 cm x 200 cm;
    in front of the toilet 300 cm x 145 cm;
    to the left of the toilet 200 cm x 70 cm;
    to the right of the toilet 50 cm x 70 cm.
  • There are grab rails to the left and right of the toilet.
  • The left grab rail can be folded up.
  • The sink is wheelchair compatible.
  • The mirror can be seen while sitting or standing.
  • There is a cord as an alarm trigger.

Spa - Public toilet for people with disabilities (1st floor)

  • The door is at least 93 cm wide.
  • The manoeuvring spaces are:
    in front of the washbasin 275 cm x 160 cm;
    in front of the toilet 293 cm x 150 cm;
    to the left of the toilet 90 cm x 70 cm;
    to the right of the toilet 155 cm x 51 cm.
  • There are grab rails to the left and right of the toilet.
  • The right grab rail can be folded up. 
  • The sink is wheelchair compatible.
  • The mirror can be seen while standing or sitting. 

Convention Center - Public toilet for people with disabilities (ground floor)

  • The door is at least 90 cm wide.
  • The manoeuvring spaces are:
    in front of the washbasin 74 cm x 160 cm;
    in front of the toilet 160 cm x 74 cm;
    to the left of the toilet 110 cm x 50 cm;
    There is no manoeuvring space to the right of the toilet. 
  • There is a grab rail to the left of the toilet.
  • The sink is wheelchair compatible.
  • The mirror can be seen while sitting or standing.
  • There is a cord as an alarm trigger.
