Description

The State Theater Augsburg offers pieces from the fields of music theater, concert, drama and ballet as well as digital theater. The schedule is varied. Tickets are available in advance at the box office at the Tourist-Information Augsburg, online at the webshop or, if still available, at the box office at the venue. Admission begins 60 minutes before the start of the performance.

The venue is located on company premises. You can get there by bike, car or public transport. The entrance to the venue can be reached on foot or with the paid theater shuttle (stops at City-Galerie and Textilmuseum, 0,50€ per trip).   • The entrance/access to the building is possible without steps (max. 2 cm threshold, if necessary via a ramp). 
  • All rooms and facilities that can be used by guests and are raised are accessible without steps. 
  • Doors and passageways are at least 90 cm wide. 
  • The box office counter is 110 cm high at the lowest point. There is another equivalent means of communication in a seated position.
  • There are 6 designated seats for wheelchair users in the theater hall.
  • In the catering area (foyer catering) there are 9 wheelchair accessible tables (maximum height 80 cm, wheelchair accessible at a height of 67 cm with a depth of 30 cm). 

Public toilet for people with disabilities

  • The manoeuvring spaces are: in front of the sink 215 cm x 162 cm; in front of the toilet 162 cm x 215 cm; to the left of the toilet 71 cm x 70 cm; to the right of the toilet 99 cm x 70 cm.
  • There are grab rails to the left and right of the toilet.
  • Both handholds can be folded up. 
  • The sink is wheelchair compatible. 
  • The mirror can be seen while standing or sitting. 
  • There is a cord as an alarm trigger.

  • Assistance dogs (companion dogs, guide dogs for the blind, etc.) may be brought into all relevant areas/rooms of the establishment/offerings. Pre-registration with the visitor service is requested.
  • The entrance area is recognisable by a tactilely perceptible change of flooring. 
  • All raised areas that can be used by guests (entrance area, box office/counter, dormitories, corridors, hallways) are well lit, i.e. bright and glare-free.
  • The State Theatre offers audio descriptions for blind and visually impaired people several times per season. Further information is also available at:  https://staatstheater-augsburg.de/audiodeskription 
  • The signage is designed in clearly legible lettering. There is a good visual contrast between the lettering/pictogram and the background.

  • There is no audio looping system available at the box office.
  • There is an audio looping system in the theatre. 
  • Certain productions are supported by professional sign language interpreters. In addition, individual performances at martini-Park are fully surtitled (incl. character assignment).   • In the catering area (foyer catering) there are 9 tables with bright and glare-free lighting, where there are no lamps or hanging lamps that interfere with the field of vision or eye contact.
