Description

The national theatre Augsburg shows stage plays in the fields of music theatre, concert, drama and ballet as well as digital theatre. The repertoire is varied and admission begins 60 minutes before the start of the performance. Tickets are available in advance at the box office at the Tourist-Information Augsburg, online at the webshop of the theater and, if still available, at the box office at the venue.

The stage "Brechtbühne im Ofenhaus" can easily be reached by car, direction via public transport is also possible. On performance days a shuttle from the station Oberhausen to the stage is offered. Please find further information unter www.staatstheater-augsburg.de.

Some information on accessibility are listed below. For detailed information please see the evaluation report.

  • There are 9 parking spaces for people with disabilities in the car park (space size: 350 cm x500 cm).
  • The car park is 40 m from the entrance. 
  • On the way between the multi-storey car park and the entrance to the Brechtbühne venue there is a door with a threshold 3 cm high.
  • The entrance/access to the building is step-free (max. 2 cm threshold, if necessary via a ramp).
  • All rooms and facilities that can be used and raised for the guest are accessible without steps or via a lift. Door thresholds are max. 3 cm high. 
  • The lift cabin is 119 cm x 209 cm. The lift door is 99 cm wide.
  • Passages and doors are at least 90 cm wide. 
  • There are 2 designated seats for wheelchair users in the theatre hall.
  • The box office counter is 105 cm high at the lowest point. 
  • The catering counter in the foyer is 91 cm high at its lowest point.
  • The cloakroom counter is 92 cm high at its lowest point. 

Public toilet on the ground floor

  • The manoeuvring spaces are:
    in front of the washbasin 200 cm x 104 cm;
    in front of the toilet 104 cm x 200 cm;
    to the left of the toilet 68 cm x 70 cm;
    to the right of the toilet 88 cm x 70 cm.
  • There are grab rails to the left and right of the toilet.
  • Both grab rails can be flipped-op.
  • The sink is wheelchair compatible. 
  • The mirror can be seen while standing or sitting. 
  • An alarm trigger is available

  • Assistance dogs are allowed in relevant areas. Please book in advance with the visitor service.
  • The entrance is visually rich in contrast and recognizable by a tactile change of floor covering. 
  • There are glass doors without safety markings. 
  • There are no visually contrasting or tactilely detectable floor indicators available. 
  • All evaluated and usable areas for the guest are well illuminated, i.e. bright and glare-free.  
  • Stairs have handrails on both sides. Steps are not visually rich in contrast. 
  • The signage is designed in clearly legible and contrasting font. 
  • Audio descriptions for blind and visually impaired people are provided for some productions in the programme. During the performance, the visual processes on stage are spoken live and transmitted to an individual receiving device. Beforehand, costumes, props and parts of the stage set can also be felt during an exclusive introduction. The corresponding performances are announced online in the playbill and in the Leporello.

  • There is an audio induction loop system in the theatre hall (Brechtbühne), but there is no audio induction loop system at the box office.
  • There is no clearly visible alarm. 
  • An outgoing emergency call in the lift is confirmed audibly, but not visually. Alternatively, there is a staircase.
  • Selected productions will be translated by professional sign language interpreters. In addition, individual performances in the martini-Park will be fully surtitled (incl. character assignment). The corresponding performances are announced online in our playbill and in the Leporello.
