Tegernsee Ski School

 All areas relevant for testing meet the quality criteria of the label "Accessibility certified - partially accessible for people with walking disabilities and partially accessible for wheelchair users".

Some information on accessibility are listed below. For detailed information please see the evaluation report.

• There is a general parking lot available.
• The bus stop "Scharling Grundnerweg - Kreuth" is 900 m away.
• The building is steplessly accessible (treshhold: 4,5 cm).
• All evaluated rooms and facilities available to the guests are steplessly accessible or via a ramp.
• The ramp has a maximum gradient of 6 % and a total length of 20 m (intermediate landings available).
• All evaluated passageways/doors available to the guests are at least 90 cm wide.
• The cash desk is at its lowest point 80 cm high. There is no equivalent communication possibility while in a sitting position.

Ski courses

• Ski courses are offered for people with walking disabilities and wheelchair users.
• Ski instructors are trained in such a way that people with walking disabilities and wheelchair users can participate and their concerns are addressed.
• Two dual skis and a Cart-Ski (Tessier) are available which can be used within the framework of courses. Courses are offered for the use of these. Proof of individual use must be submitted. Corresponding courses are also offered.

Public toilet for people with disabilities with shower in Andis Hirschberg Stüberl

• The door is 93 cm wide.
• The manoeuvring spaces are:
  front of the toilet 200 cm x 174 cm;
  and the washbasin at least 175 cm x 190 cm;
  left of the toilet 173 cm x 69 cm;
  right of the toilet at least 91 cm x 69 cm.
• There are grab rails available on the right and left of the toilet..
• There is a grab rail on the left/right side of the toilet. The grab rail can/cannot be flipped-up.
• The sink has limited access.
• The mirror can be seen while standing or sitting.
• The shower is accessible without thresholds.
• The manoeuvring space in the shower is 170 cm x 190 cm.
• A shower seat is available or can be provided if required. 
• There are grab rails available in the shower. 
• A shower seat is available or can be provided if required (permanently installed, foldable, hook-in or mobile and stable).
• An alarm trigger is not available.

• Assistance dogs are allowed in relevant areas/rooms. 
• The entrance is recognizable by a tactile change of floor covering. 
• Ski courses for visually impaired and blind people are offered.
• The ski school has four ski instructors with accompanying training for the blind.

• No special ski courses are offered for people with hearing disabilities or deaf people (e.g. in German sign language).
• Other offers: There are two dual skis available, which can be used for courses. Training as a dual ski pilot (3-hour instruction in the use of the dual ski as proof that dual ski can be used). The student is entitled to borrow the dual ski without an accompanying person).
