Cable car Zugspitze

Description

Since the 2017 winter season, wheelchair users have also been able to travel comfortably up Germany's highest mountain on the new world-record cable car.

The Zugspitze experience begins in the newly built valley station, which allows level access and exit to the cable car cabins. In the spacious entrance area, guests also have a clear view of the Eibsee and Zugspitze. The record-breaking cable car takes just 10 minutes to cover the 1,945-metre difference in altitude from the valley station at Lake Eibsee to the summit. And the time flies by, while experienced mountain enthusiasts as well as children, senior citizens and wheelchair users are amazed by the steep views from the floor-to-ceiling glass cabin and the excitingly approaching rock face. The spectacular cable car ride is crowned by the new mountain station, where three guest levels provide access to the glacier cable car, the gastronomic infrastructure, toilet area and the summit terrace with 360° panoramic views.  All these levels are conveniently accessible via a lift.
