Some information on accessibility are listed below. For detailed information please see the evaluation report. 

  • There are three parking spaces available for people with disabilities.
  • The Opernhaus subway station and the Opernhaus bus stop are located 100 meters away.
  • All rooms and facilities used by guests are either step-free/at ground level or accessible via an elevator.
  • All doors and passageways used by guests are at least 90 cm wide. Exception: doors in the wellness area (sauna and changing rooms).
  • The reception counter is 91 cm high. An alternative, equivalent means of communication while seated is available.
  • There are three rooms designed to be barrier-free.
  • The toilet in these rooms is accessible from one side (at least 90 cm).
  • A flip-up grab bar is available at least on the accessible side of the toilet.
  • The sink is wheelchair compatible, and the mirror is visible even when seated.
  • Access to the shower is threshold-free. A grab bar and a shower chair are provided.
  • The restaurant has tables that are no more than 80 cm high and are wheelchair compatible at a height of 67 cm and a depth of 30 cm.
  • A wellness area is available. This was surveyed but not included in the evaluation.
  • There are shallow steps with a handrail leading into the swimming pool.
  • A public restroom for people with disabilities is available, which is accessible from both sides (at least 80 cm). Flip-up grab bars are provided on the left and right sides of the toilet.

  • Service dogs are welcome.
  • The entrance area is designed with high visual contrast.
  • The signage (for wayfinding) features clearly legible text with high visual contrast.
  • All elevated areas accessible to guests are illuminated with bright, glare-free lighting.
  • An emergency call made from the elevator is confirmed with an audible signal.
  • Stairs have edges with high visual contrast on the first and last steps. Stairs have handrails on both sides.
  • The font on the menu is simple and features high visual contrast.
  • The edges of the pools are set off with high visual contrast.
  • There are steps with a handrail leading into the (swimming) pool(s).
  • Information is not available in braille or raised lettering.

  • In the event of an audible alarm, there is no additional clear visual flashing signal.
  • An audio induction loop system or another technical solution for people with hearing impairments (e.g., Sennheiser Mobile Connect, Phonak Roger) is available.
  • Information is provided in writing.
  • Wi-Fi is available.
  • In the rooms surveyed (119 and 121), there is at least one freely accessible electrical outlet near the bed.
  • A vibrating alarm clock is available.
  • An emergency call made from the elevator is confirmed only by an audible signal. Stairs are available as an alternative.
  • The restaurant features tables with bright, glare-free lighting, with no lamps standing or hanging above them that would obstruct the field of vision or eye contact.
