Circular hiking trail around the "Großer Arbersee"
Description
The "Großer Arbersee" is one of the most popular destination in the ARBERLAND BAYERISCHER WALD. The redesigned circuit around the lake attracts the older generation and people with limited mobility as well as families with children or prams.
In 1939 the "Großer Arbersee" with its "floating islands", the impressive "Arberseewand" and the adjoining mixed mountain forests with an area of 157 ha has been declared a nature reserve.
The visitor guidance measure was established in close cooperation with the House of Hohenzollern, the Bavarian State Forests, the Lower and Higher Nature Conservation Authorities, the Nature Conservation Associations and the Bavarian Forest Nature Park and implemented in an exemplary manner by the Arber Mountain Railway.
The "Arberseerundweg" offers a variety of nature adventures as well as the opportunity to experience one of Lower Bavaria's most valuable nature reserves with little barriers.
The circular route is about 1.7 km long.
