Guided tour of Wasserburg Town Hall

Description

A glimpse behind historic walls: on a guided tour of the town hall, discover magnificent halls, impressive frescoes and the history of Wasserburg.

The historic town hall on Marienplatz is one of Wasserburg’s most impressive buildings and invites you on an exciting journey of discovery through several centuries of the town’s history. Despite numerous alterations and renovations, the town hall has retained its late-Gothic character to this day. During the guided tour, you’ll gain access to rooms that are otherwise not open to the public: the Great Town Hall Hall with its magnificent historicist murals by Maximilian von Mann (1903–1905), the Small Town Hall Hall with its intricately carved beamed ceiling and wall paintings dating from 1564, and the former rooms of the town archives with their early 17th-century furnishings. Its central location in the heart of the old town makes the Town Hall tour the ideal starting point or highlight of a walking tour of Wasserburg. The tours are completely weather-independent and can be booked at any time.
