Some information on accessibility are listed below. For detailed information please see the evaluation report.

  • Public car parks are available in the immediate vicinity. There are no parking facilities directly in front of the town hall.
  • There is a threshold of 3 cm at the entrance to the town hall.
  • On the way to the elevator/staircase there are two identical ramps with a gradient of 10 % and a running width of 100 cm.
  • All doors and passageways are at least 90 cm wide.
  • The car of the elevator to the 2nd and 3rd floors is 108 cm x 180 cm in size. 
  • The exhibits / stations as well as the associated information are predominately visible and legible while sitting.
  • Guided tours are offered for people with walking disabilities and wheelchair users. Seating is available. The entire route is infinitely accessible for wheelchair users.

Public toilet for people with disabilities in the town hall, 2nd floor

  • The toilet is accessible via a door threshold ramp.
  • The manoeuvring space in the sanitary room is on the left to the toilet 97 cm x 7o cm, on the right 70 cm x 70 cm and in front of the toilet and washbasin more than 150 cm x 150 cm.
  • The toilet has handles that can be folded up on both sides.
  • The washbasin has limited access and the mirror can be seen while standing or sitting.

  • Assistance dogs are allowed.
  • The step less entrances to the tourist information and to the town hall (threshold 3 cm) are visually contrasting to the surroundings and can be recognized by a tactile floor covering change.
  • Operating elements are visually rich in contrast, but can only be detected tactilely in isolated cases.
  • The outgoing emergency call is confirmed audibly in the elevator. Alternatively, stairs with handrails are available. There is a visual and tactile contrast between the floor covering and the stairways leading up and down. 
  • In the exhibition, the well-lit exhibits usually contrast visually with their surroundings. Information on the exhibits can partly be captured tactilely.
  • Essential walkways are predominantly visually rich in contrast and can be captured tactilely almost everywhere. Floor indicators are not available.
  • The signage is available in clearly legible font. There is no tactile information available (Braille or prismatic signs).
  • Guided tours for visually impaired and blind people are offered. There are exhibits to touch. A reservation is desired.

  • There is no visually perceptible alarm.
  • There is no audio induction loop (exception: at events in the Golden Hall).
  • In the elevator, the outgoing emergency call is confirmed audibly, not optically.
  • Information about the exhibits is provided in writing in the exhibition.
  • Guided tours are offered in sign language for people with hearing impairment and deaf people. A reservation is desired.

  • Information is not displayed by pictograms or pictures and is not conveyed in easy language.
  • There is no colored or pictorial guidance system.

  • Guided tours in easy language are offered for people with cognitive impairments. The contents of the guided tours are explained in a way that is easy to understand (e.g. pictorially). Reservation required.
