North shore path at Lake Weissensee

Description

Experience value: Along the northern shore of the Weißensee there are many picturesquely located vantage points from which you can enjoy a magnificent view of the water and the mountain range lying directly behind it. Special highlights are the Säuling mountain, which shows its most beautiful side, as well as the rock faces of the Salober mountain and the parish church of St. Walburga. The path leads close to the water and allows nature lovers to get a close look at the flora and fauna. Numerous trees along the way provide an alternation of shade and sun, and about halfway along the trail, the climate pavilion in the rest garden invites you to take a break. Only the northern shore of Lake Weissensee is accessible by wheelchair, bicycle or stroller, as a narrow root path runs along the shore on the wooded southern shore. Since it is not a circular route, the way back is the same as the way there. If you wish, you can also shorten half of the way and start the way back right after visiting the rest garden. There is a possibility to start from the parking lot of the eastern shore or from the parking lot of the open-air swimming pool on the western shore. In the case of the latter, there are refreshment facilities and accessible toilets in the immediate vicinity.

If you want, you can make a detour to the nearby village store Weißensee. This has barrier-free access and an accessible toilet.
