Klausbachtal Hiking Trail: Game Feeding

Berchtesgaden National Park

Description

The walking trail to the wildlife feeding site in the Klausbach Valley offers a wonderful opportunity to experience the natural beauty of Berchtesgaden National Park. Feeding takes place from December to April, and during this period visitors can observe up to 50 red deer stags and hinds with their fawns. The feeding is carried out to prevent browsing and bark stripping damage in the mountain forest, as the red deer can no longer migrate to the Alpine foothills due to settlements and roads. The hike starts from the Klausbachhaus and offers stunning views of the imposing Hochkalter and Reiteralpe mountain ranges.
