Information point St. Bartholomä Königssee

Description

At the St. Bartholomä Information Centre, visitors can experience the powerful way in which water shapes landscapes. Located on the Hirschau peninsula on Lake Königssee, the centre provides fascinating insights into the natural processes at work in the mountains and the importance of water.

The facilities are spread across the Jägerhaus, the Holzstube and an outdoor area with two interactive play zones. The main exhibition in the Jägerhaus takes visitors through five themed rooms, each featuring numerous hands-on and discovery stations. Here, key national park themes such as snow and glaciers, karst landscapes and springs are vividly presented.

A particular highlight is the cinema in the Holzstube: the 12-minute film “The Wonderful World of Water in the National Park” features impressive footage both above and below the water’s surface and perfectly complements a visit to the exhibition.

The exhibition is aimed at first-time visitors, nature enthusiasts, families and an international audience – all content is available in German and English.
