  • There is a local bus stop (Kulturspeicher) 90 meters away.
  • There is a parking lot for people with disabilities. (parking space size: 350 cm x 600 cm), approx. 40 m from the entrance.
  • All rooms and facilities that can be used by guests are accessible without steps/at ground level or via a ramp or elevator. 
  • All doors/passages that can be used by guests and are raised are at least 90 cm wide.
  • Exhibits and information are mainly visible from a seated position.
  • All tactile models are wheelchair compatible.
  • Seating is available.
  • There are public toilets for people with disabilities (men and women) that can be accessed from one side (at least 90 cm). There is a folding grab rail on the accessible side of the toilet. 
  • Guided tours are offered for people with walking disabilities and wheelchair users. It is not necessary to book in advance. 
  • The entire route of the tour is steplessly accessible for wheelchair users.

  • The entrance area is visually contrasted with the surroundings. 
  • Assistance dogs (guide dogs, guide dogs for the blind, etc.) may be brought into all relevant areas/rooms. 
  • In the entrance area and in rooms 03 and 04 (1st floor), as well as in room 7 (ground floor), there are visually high-contrast and tactile floor indicators. 
  • The signage for orientation is designed in easily legible lettering. There is a good visual contrast between the lettering/pictogram and the background. 
  • All raised areas that can be used by guests are well lit, i.e. bright and glare-free.
  • An outgoing emergency call in the elevator is confirmed acoustically, e.g. by an intercom system. The stopping position is announced by voice.
  • The exhibits are well lit. Information on the exhibits is visually rich in contrast. 
  • Many tactile models are available.
  • Information is conveyed in writing and there is acoustic information.
  • The following technical options for conveying information are available: QR codes, NFC, apps. An audio guide is available that can be used independently by people with visual impairments/blind people. 
  • Guided tours are offered for people with visual impairments and blind people.

  • An inductive hearing system is available.
  • An outgoing emergency call in the elevator is confirmed acoustically, e.g. by an intercom system. Alternatively, stairs are available.  
  • An information screen in the foyer with videos in German sign language and subtitles is available.
  •  Information is available in sign language.  
  • Guided tours with FM equipment are available for people with hearing impairments (e.g. headphones, neckloops).  
  • Guided tours are offered in German sign language for deaf people. 
  • An app is available that conveys all information and content in German sign language.

  • The name or logo of the company/facility is clearly recognizable from the outside. 
  • The museum ticket office is directly visible from the entrance door 
  • Information on selected exhibits is provided in plain language.
  • You can download the app from the app stores. The app guides you through the museum in plain language. The museum ticket office will be happy to help you with any settings for the app. 
  • In room 4 there is a puzzle game in easy language about the artist Emy Roeder.
  • There is a website in plain language.
