Museum "HopfenBierGut"

Description

The granary is a building over 550 years old, which was originally a granary. Later, hops were stored and traded here. Since 2015, the multimedia museum HopfenBierGut has been located on the 1st/2nd floor, the GenussLaden (gourmet store) on the first floor and the tourist information office on the first floor.

The Kornhaus is a historical building made of half-timbered sandstone, which was originally a granary. Later, hops were stored and traded here. Since 2015, the modern museum HopfenBierGut is located on the 1st/2nd floor. You can get there by elevator. It explains the cultivation of hops, the craft of brewing beer and the history of Spalt with exhibits, a circular screen and hands-on stations. After the museum visit with or without a guided tour (booking in advance), you get a Spalter beer/water/apple spritzer(0.2l) at the ProBierBar for tasting. The HopfenBierGut glass may be taken away as a souvenir. The GenussLaden with regional products and gift ideas, the ProBierBar and the tourist information are located on the first floor.

  • There are two marked parking space for people with disabilities (parking space size: 260 cm x 530 cm).
  • The path from the car park to the main entrance is 40 m long. It is not easy to walk and drive on (cobblestones).
  • The museum is steplessly accessible.
  • Almost all evaluated rooms and facilities available to the guests are at ground level or via elevator.
  • All evaluated passageways/doors available to the guests are at least 80 cm wide.
  • The cash desk is 113 cm high at its lowest point. There is no other, equivalent communication possibility while in a sitting position.
  • Seating is available in the exhibition.
  • The exhibits are predominately visible while sitting.
  • The information on the exhibits is predominately legible while sitting.
  • There is a public toilet for people with disabilities, which is accessible from both sides (minimum 80 cm). There are folding grab rails on the left and right of the toilet.
  • Guided tours are offered for people with walking disabilities and wheelchair users. Advance booking is required.
  • Mobile or fixed seating is available for people with walking disabilities, which can be used during the tour.

  • Signage (for orientation) is designed in easily legible, high-contrast lettering.
  • All elevated areas accessible to guests are brightly lit without glare.

  • An outgoing emergency call in the elevator is confirmed acoustically. The stopping position is announced in the elevator by voice.
  • Steps do not have high-contrast edges.
  • Stairs have handrails on both sides.
  • The exhibits are well lit.
  • Information about the exhibits is visually high-contrast.
  • Information about the exhibits is provided acoustically.
  • Seating is available.
  • Information is not available in relief or Braille.
  • Guided tours are offered for people with visual impairments and blind people. Advance registration is required.
  • During the tours, exhibits are integrated for touching.
