Description

Visitors can experience over 1000 years of ancient art at the Museum of Plaster Casts. The collection brings together masterpieces of Greek and Roman sculpture from all over the world as replicas. The plaster casts correspond exactly to the originals in size and overall appearance.

  • There is a parking lot for people with disabilities.
  • All rooms and facilities that can be used by guests and are raised are accessible without steps/at ground level or via a ramp or elevator. 
  • All doors/passages and paths that can be used by guests are at least 78 cm wide.
  • Exhibits and information are mainly visible from a seated position.
  • Seating is available.
  • There is a public WC for people with disabilities that can be accessed from one side (at least 80 cm). There are folding grab rails to the left and right of the toilet.   
  • Guided tours are offered for people with walking disabilities and wheelchair users.
  • Mobile or fixed seating is available for people with walking disabilities, which can be used during the tour.

  • Assistance dogs are welcome.
  • The signage (for orientation) is designed in easy-to-read, high-contrast lettering.
  • There is a good contrast between the lettering and pictograms on the signage.
  • All areas are brightly lit and glare-free.
  • An outgoing emergency call in the elevator is confirmed acoustically.
  • Stairs have handrails on both sides.
  • The exhibits are well illuminated.
  • Information about the exhibits is visually rich in contrast.
  • Information about the exhibits is conveyed acoustically or tactilely (Braille, prismatic writing).
  • Other aids: media station with headphones, folding cards with hearing system, permanently installed audio flaps, DGS website with the option of listening to texts and watching videos with sign language via smartphone, tactile objects, Braille booklets 
  • Guided tours are offered for people with visual impairments and blind people. Advance booking is required. 
  • Touch exhibits are integrated during the guided tours.

  • There is no audio induction system available. 
  • An outgoing emergency call in the elevator is only confirmed acoustically. Alternatively, stairs are available.
  • Information about the exhibits is provided in writing or in photorealistic form.
  • Seating is available.
  • Additional aids: videos in sign language 
  • Guided tours are offered for people with hearing impairments and deaf people (in German sign language). 
  • Guided tours with FM equipment are available for people with hearing impairments (e.g. headphones, neckloops).

  • Booklets in easy language are available free of charge to take away.
  • Guided tours are offered for people with cognitive impairments. Advance booking is required.  
  • The guided tour for people with cognitive impairments is held in plain language.  
  • The contents (e.g. exhibits) of the guided tour for people with cognitive impairments are easy to understand or are explained in an easy-to-understand way (e.g. pictorially).
