MAD Museum at the cathedral

Description

The MAD, Museum am Dom, exhibits works of art from the 10th to the 21st century. Special, new and different: the juxtaposition of old and contemporary art.

The MAD is located in the heart of Würzburg. On one level, which is accessible without obstacles, it invites you to discover your own perspectives in the interplay of old and new art. The rich spectrum of artworks allows us to share in the fundamental human experiences of many artists. In seven thematic worlds, they tell of love, joy, hope, affection, but also of loss and grief, and touch us with their stories, which can easily be reflected in our own lives. The extraordinary focus on East German art with top-class representatives of the Leipzig School sets unexpected and unusual accents. In keeping with the motto “think what you like”, the MAD encourages visitors to engage with their own perceptions without any prior knowledge or specific expectations. Current events such as guided tours or special events are always available online at www.museum-am-dom.de
