LBV Environmental Station "Altmühlsee"

Description

In the Franconian Lake District at the Altmühlsee, experience the "Fascination of Bird Migration" in an exhibition rich in contrasts and gain insights into the formation of the lake.

The LBV environmental station in Muhr a.See invites you to interactively follow the flight paths of migratory birds, to take a multimedia "trip" to foreign countries, and to get to know the flora and fauna at Lake Altmühl. The Landesbund für Vogelschutz (LBV) accompanied the development of the Altmühlsee from the very beginning. Today, the reservoir not only delights bathers and water sports enthusiasts, but also has extensive nature conservation zones. How it became a natural paradise and an important travel station for numerous migratory birds is also the subject of the interactive exhibition "Fascination of Bird Migration". The permanent exhibition can be explored on your own or on a group tour. In addition, the state-approved LBV environmental station offers a library. Information material and maps are also available.
