Country Inn and Guest House "Zum Löwen"

Description

The country inn "Zum Löwen" has been family-owned for several generations and offers its guests a pleasant stay in the country inn and in the newly built guest house. A recognized good kitchen, in which also the own sheep and goats are processed, provide for your physical well-being. The town of Unterweißenbrunn, surrounded by meadows and woods, is an ideal starting point for walks and hikes. Further leisure time activities, gliding on the Wasserkuppe mountain, model flying, mountain biking, cycling as well as winter sports with complete lift and cross-country skiing facilities at Kreuzberg mountain and its surroundings.

  • There is a general car park. There are five unmarked parking spaces for people with disabilities (parking space size: 350 cm x 500 cm; distance to entrance approx. 12 m).
  • The outdoor paths and the car park are easy to walk and drive on due to their surface quality.
  • The main and side entrances can only be reached via steps with handrail.
  • Stepless access is via an elevator (accessible from outdoors).
  • The size of the elevator cab is 110 cm x 140 cm. The control elements are not arranged on a horizontal control panel (height of the control buttons 89 to 109 cm).
  • The reception building can be reached via two steps with handrail. The reception counter is 78 cm high at the lowest point.
  • All passageways/doors are at least 80 cm wide.
  • All evaluated areas usable by the guest are at ground level, accessible via ramps or elevator.
  • There are wheelchair accessible tables in the dining room. The inn can be reached by stairs. Guests who cannot use the stairs will be accompanied via the rear entrance via two mobile 150 cm long ramps (ramp 1 at the rear entrance with 8 % gradient, ramp 2 between kitchen and guest room with 14 % gradient).

  • Guided tours to the sheep and/or goat herd are offered for people with walking disabilities and wheelchair users. A reservation is desired.

Room "Arnsberg" with sanitary room (double bedroom)

  • The door to the room is 81 cm wide. There is a connecting door to another room.
  • The manoeuvring spaces are:
    in front of essential immobile furnishings at least 150 cm x 150 cm;
    left of the bed 56 cm x 200 cm,
    right 200 cm x 200 cm.
  • The maximum height of the bed is 54 cm.
  • The door to the sanitary room is 81 cm wide. The manoeuvring spaces are:
    in front of the toilet 80 cm x 200 cm
    in front of the washbasin 94 cm x 120 cm;
    right and left of the toilet there is no manoeuvring space.
  • There are no grab rails on both sides of the toilet.
  • The washbasin has limited wheelchair access.
  • The shower area at ground level is 85 cm x 145 cm. There is a shower chair, but no grab handles.
  • An alarm trigger is not present.

Room "Kreuzberg" with sanitary room (double bedroom)

  • The door to the room is 81 cm wide. There is a connecting door to another room.
  • The manoeuvring spaces are:
    in front of essential immobile furnishings at least 150 cm x 150 cm;
    left of the bed 92 cm x 200 cm, right 152 cm x 200 cm.
  • The maximum height of the bed is 54 cm.
  • The door to the sanitary room is 94 cm wide. The door opens inwards, but does not affect the manoeuvring spaces in front of the toilet and washbasin.
  • The manoeuvring spaces are:
    in front of the toilet at least 170 cm x 200 cm;
    in front of the washbasin 110 cm x 180 cm;
    left of the toilet 72 cm x 53 cm, right 140 cm 53 cm.
  • There are handles which can be folded up on both sides of the toilet.
  • The washbasin has limited wheelchair access.
  • The mirror can be seen while standing or sitting.
  • The shower area at ground level is 97 cm x 116 cm. There is a shower chair and grab handles.
  • An alarm trigger is present as a cord.

Public toilet for people with disabilities in the overnight building

  • The door opens to the inside, but does not affect the manoeuvring spaces in front of the toilet and washbasin.
  • In the toilet the manoeuvring spaces are:
    in front of the toilet at least 150 cm x 150 cm;
    in front of the washbasin 200 cm x 120 cm;
    left 170 cm x 54 cm,
    right 42 cm x 54 cm.
  • There are handles which can be folded up on both sides of the toilet.
  • The washbasin has limited wheelchair access.
  • The mirror cannot be seen while sitting.
  • In the public toilet there is a shower at ground level. The manoeuvring space in the shower is 95 cm x 140 cm. There is a shower chair and a grab handle. This shower can be used by guests if the bathroom in the room does not meet the requirements.

  • Assistance dogs are not allowed.
  • The main entrance and the entrance to the reception are visually rich in contrast.
  • In the elevator (alternative stepless entrance) the stopping position is not announced by speech. Signs are available in Braille. The operating elements are tactile but not visually high in contrast. An outgoing emergency call is confirmed acoustically.
  • Stairs have handrails, but no high-contrast step surfaces.
  • Operating elements can be detected tactilely throughout the entire building, but are only partially visually rich in contrast.
  • Paths can be detected tactilely almost everywhere and are visually rich in contrast throughout the entire building or the walls can be used for orientation.
  • The evaluated rooms and corridors usable by the guest are brightly lit and glare-free.
  • Information is designed in legible font.
  • There is no information in Braille or prismatic writing.
  • The menu font is straightforward and visually rich in contrast, but not designed in large print.
  • There are no obstacles, e.g. objects protruding into the path/room.
  • Aids offered: reading aids (reading glasses, magnifying glasses, etc.)
  • Guided tours to the sheep and/or goat herd are offered for visually impaired and blind people. A reservation is desired.

  • In the case of an acoustic alarm, there is no visually perceptible flashing light or flashing signal.
  • There is no audio induction loop.
  • In the elevator (alternative entrance), an emergency call is confirmed acoustically, but not optically.

  • The ringing at the room doors is not indicated by a flashing signal.
  • WiFi is available for communication.
  • In the guest room there are tables with bright and glare-free lighting, with no lamps standing or hanging on them that restrict the field of vision. There are seating areas with low background noises.
  • Information is provided in written form.
  • Guided tours to the sheep and/or goat herd are offered for people with hearing disabilities, but not for deaf people. A reservation is desired.

  • The name and logo of the establishment are clearly visible from the outside at the main entrance, but not at the reception entrance.

  • The destination of the path is usually within sight. There is no uninterrupted guidance system or signs at a visible distance.
