Seeon Monastery - Island of Peace and Serenity.

Situated near Lake Chiemsee on the Seeon monastery lake, the Seeon Monastery Cultural and Educational Center offers perfect conditions for conferences, cultural events or simply a relaxing vacation. Tradition and modernity are reflected in the former Benedictine monastery, leaving room to breathe and innovate. The hotel has three accessbile designed rooms. The restaurant Ex libris - the former library and the meeting rooms are fully accessible.

  • There are 3 designated parking spaces for people with disabilities. 
  • Exterior paths are at least 200 cm wide.
  • All rooms and facilities that can be used and raised for the guest are accessible without steps. 
  • Exterior paths have a maximum longitudinal slope of 5%. 
  • Entrance/access to the building is possible without steps (max. 2 cm threshold, if necessary via a ramp). (Hotel Kloster Seeon: entrance area).
  • The exhibits are predominantly visible, perceptible or recognizable while seated. 
  • All areas are accessible without steps via elevators. 
  • Elevator cabs are at least 108 cm x 138. Elevator doors are at least 90 cm wide.
  • A lift is available. The platform is 99 cm wide and 180 cm deep.
  • The reception counter is 90 cm high at the lowest point. 
  • There is another, equivalent means of communication while seated.
  • There are sufficient accessible tables (maximum height 80 cm, accessible at a height of 67 cm with a depth of 30 cm). 
  • Several barrier-free designed rooms are available. 
  • There are several public toilets for the disabled. 

Hotel Kloster Seeon - 2nd floor: room no. 46 - bedroom:

  • The room is a single room.
  • The movement areas are: in front of essential furnishings (e.g. cupboards) 160 cm x 180 cm; to the left of the bed 0 cm x 0 cm; to the right of the bed 200 cm x 170 cm.
  • The bed is 57 cm high.

Bathroom

  • The movement areas in the bathroom are: in front of the sink 200 cm x 156 cm; in front of the WC 180 cm x 158 cm; to the left of the WC 151 cm x 54 cm; to the right of the WC 102 cm x 54 cm.

WC / washbasin

  • There are grab rails to the left and right of the WC.
  • Both grab rails can be folded up. 
  • The washbasin is accessible from underneath at a height of 67 cm and a depth of less than 30 cm.
  • The mirror can be viewed while sitting or standing.
  • The shower is accessible without steps.
  • The shower / shower area is 120 cm x 154 cm.
  • There are grab bars in the shower.
  • A shower seat is available or can be provided if needed.

Hotel Kloster Seeon - 2nd floor: room no. 45 - bedroom :

  • The room is a double room.
  • The movement areas are: in front of essential furnishings (e.g. cupboards) 160 cm x 150 cm;to the left of the bed 140 cm x 200 cm; to the right of the bed 160 cm x 162 cm.
  • The bed is 57 cm high.

Bathroom

  • The movement areas in the bathroom are: in front of the sink 180 cm x 105 cm; in front of the WC 180 cm x 200 cm; to the left of the WC 100 cm x 70 cm; to the right of the WC 98 cm x 70 cm.

WC / washbasin

  • There are folding grab rails to the left and right of the WC.
  • The washbasin is accessible at a height of 67 cm and a depth of less than 30 cm.
  • The mirror is visible in sitting and standing position.

Shower

  • The shower is accessible without steps. 
  • The shower / shower area is 120 cm x 120 cm.
  • There are grab bars in the shower.
  • A shower seat is available or can be provided if needed (fixed, folding, hook-in or mobile and stable).

Hotel Kloster Seeon - 1st floor: Public WC for people with disabilities:

  • There is a unisex WC available.
  • The movement areas are: in front of the washbasin 156 cm x 137 cm; in front of the WC 156 cm x 137 cm; to the left of the WC 91 cm x 53 cm; to the right of the WC 28 cm x 53 cm.
  • There are folding grab bars to the left and right of the WC.
  • The washbasin is accessible from underneath.

  • The exhibits are generally well lit. 
  • Exhibit signage is not visually contrasting. 
  • Information is conveyed in writing.'
  • The entrance area is identifiable by a tactile change in flooring.  
  • The entrance area is visually contrasting to the surrounding area. 
  • The menu is designed in unadorned, high-contrast type.
  • Assistance dogs (companion dogs, guide dogs for the blind, etc.) may be brought into all relevant areas/rooms of the establishment/offerings.
  • There is good visual contrast between the lettering/pictogram and the background.

  • An outgoing emergency call in the elevator is confirmed acoustically, e.g. by an intercom system.
  • Tables with bright and glare-free lighting are available.
  • Tables are provided where there are no lamps or hanging lamps that interfere with the field of vision or eye contact.
  • There is at least one freely available electrical outlet near the bed.
  • Ringing or knocking on the room door is not indicated by a flashing signal that can be perceived in all rooms. 
  • There is no inductive hearing system available at the reception/counter or meeting rooms.
  • W-LAN is offered.
