Green oasis in the middle of the city - Our youth hostel, one of the most modern in Germany, with its 120 rooms, is within walking distance of the Isar river. Would you like to get to know the whole of Munich in one week? We can put together a variety of programmes for you. 

A holiday between city air and nature: that's possible in Munich. Close to the Isar river, just a few underground stops from Munich city centre, you'll find our DJH youth hostel München-Park. Our hostel, the most modern in Germany, offers five seminar and conference rooms with state-of-the-art technology. 

Experience community - So that people with walking disabilities can enjoy their stay unhindered, this youth hostel is equipped to meet the needs of wheelchair users who can move their wheelchair themselves.

Our tip: Youth hostels cannot always be correctly assigned to the terms "wheelchair accessible" and "wheelchair-friendly". Before you decide on a stay, get detailed advice from the hostel team.

Our hostel offers:

  • One 3-bed and one 6-bed room (1x2 + 1x4 wheelchair places) with shower/WC for wheelchair users.

  • There is one marked parking space for people with disabilities (parking space size: 347 cm x 500 cm).
  • The parking lot is not easy to walk and drive on due to its surface quality.
  • Nearby is the subway station "Thalkirchen (Tierpark)".
  • The building is steplessly accessible via a ramp. The ramp has a maximum gradient of 6 %.
  • All evaluated rooms and facilities available to the guests are steplessly accessible via ramps, an elevator or a wheelchair lift.
  • The platform of the wheelchair lift is 113 cm x 154 cm.
  • The elevator cabin measures 105 cm x 145 cm. The elevator door is 92 cm wide.
  • All evaluated passageways / doors available to the guests are at least 88 cm wide.
  • The reception desk is 100 cm high at its lowest point.
  • There are wheelchair accessible tables in the dining room (maximum height 80 cm, wheelchair accessible at a height of 67 cm and a depth of 30 cm).

Room 012 (double bedroom)

  • The maneuvering spaces are:
    • in front of essential immobile furnishings (e.g. wardrobe) at least 200 cm x 200 cm;
    • left of the bed 90 cm x 200 cm;
    • on the right is the bed on the wall.
  • The bed is 50 cm high.
  • The maneuvering spaces in the bathroom are:
    • in front of / behind the door, in front of the toilet and the washbasin 145 cm x 187cm;
    • left of the toilet 55 cm x 70 cm and right of the toilet 109 cm x 70 cm.
  • There are handles which can be folded up on the right and left of the toilet.
  • The washbasin is wheelchair accessible.
  • The mirror can be seen while standing or sitting.
  • The shower is accessible without thresholds.
  • The maneuvering space in the shower is 213 cm x 159 cm.
  • A shower seat is available or can be provided if required.
  • There are grab handles in the shower.
  • An alarm trigger is not present.

Room 052 (double bedroom)

  • The maneuvering spaces are:
    • in front of essential immobile furnishings (e.g. wardrobe) at least 150 cm x 150 cm;
    • right of the bed 160 cm x 200 cm;
    • on the left is the bed on the wall.
  • The bed is 42 cm high.
  • The maneuvering spaces in the bathroom are:
    • in front of / behind the door, in front of the toilet and the washbasin 200 cm x 108 cm;
    • left of the toilet 90 cm x 70 cm and right of the toilet 42 cm x 70 cm.
  • There are handles which can be folded up on the right and left of the toilet.
  • The washbasin is wheelchair accessible.
  • The mirror can be seen while standing or sitting.
  • The shower is accessible without thresholds.
  • The maneuvering space in the shower is 148 cm x 191 cm.
  • A shower seat is available or can be provided if required.
  • There are grab handles in the shower.
  • An alarm trigger is not present.

Public toilet for people with disabilities

  • The maneuvering spaces are:
    • in front of / behind the door, in front of the toilet and the washbasin at least 145 cm x 145 cm;
    • left and right of the toilet at least 90 cm x 70 cm.
  • There are handles which can be folded up on the right and left of the toilet.
  • The washbasin is wheelchair accessible.
  • The mirror can be seen while standing or sitting.
  • An alarm trigger is not present.

  • There is at least one electrical outlet available near the bed.
