Burghausen Youth Hostel

Description

Burghausen, that is the lightness of being lived. Here no one has to go to Italy, here you can feel the south. In the ice cream parlour on the town square, in the little streets of the Grüben, on the green meadow in the Wöhrsee baths - the castle stands guard high above. The world's longest castle, to be precise. 1,051 metres long, still inhabited, equipped with several museums and proof that Bavaria's dukes could build castles. Six castle courtyards, moats, kennels, the Wöhrsee lake on one side, the old town with the Salzach river on the other - the complex is huge, imposing, incomparable.

The best thing about it: the youth hostel is at the foot of the castle, at the southern end of the Old Town, directly above the Salzach with a large green area. Play football against the backdrop of the castle - where else can you find that? Is football too hot for you? Then just jump into the Wöhrsee. You can be there in ten minutes on foot and swim with a view of the castle. Other numerous sporting opportunities offer only one agony - that of choice. Whether as season preparation or to promote team spirit - with these conditions you are guaranteed to make the right decision. For more information, visit www.burghausen.jugendherberge.de.
