Modern, sporty, service-oriented - this is how the SportIJugendherberge Bad Tölz presents itself. You can expect a colourful mix of a relaxed atmosphere, plenty of sporting leisure opportunities and a community where guests of all ages feel at home. A disabled-friendly stay is also possible - two rooms are suitable for wheelchair users.  

The Sport|Jugendherberge Bad Tölz is a meeting place for athletes with and without handicaps. There are numerous opportunities for training sessions in the nearby surroundings. Talk to the team to clarify the exact possibilities. 

Enjoying the community without barriers:
For most it's a flight of stairs, for others it's an insurmountable barrier. This hostel caters for wheelchair users who can move their wheelchair themselves.
Our tip: Before you decide to stay here, ask the hostel team for detailed advice. We are here for you! Even if you need special aids. We can provide you with these for a fee if necessary.

All areas relevant for testing meet the quality criteria of the label "Accessibility certified - partially accessible for people with walking disabilities and partially accessible for wheelchair users".

Some information on accessibility are listed below. For detailed information please see the evaluation report.

  • There is one marked parking space for people with disabilities (parking space size: 450 cm x 500 cm).
  • The surface quality of the car park is not easy to walk and drive on.
  • The bus stop "Eisstadion" is 250 m away.
  • The building is steplessly accessible via a treshold of 3 cm.
  • All evaluated rooms and facilities available to the guests are steplessly accessible or via an elevator.
  • The elevator cabin measures 110 cm x 140 cm. The elevator door is 90 cm wide.
  • All evaluated passageways/doors available to the guests are at least 90 cm wide.
  • The reception desk is 102 cm high at its lowest point. There is another, equivalent communication possibility while in a sitting position.
  • There are wheelchair accessible tables in the dining room (maximum height 80 cm, wheelchair accessible at a height of 67 cm and a depth of 30 cm).

Room No. 4 (multi-bedroom)

  • The maneuvering spaces are:
    in front of essential immobile furnishings (e.g. wardrobe) 173 cm x 167 cm;
    right of the bed 165 cm x 211 cm;
    on the left the bed stands next to the wall.
  • The bed is 41 cm high.
  • The maneuvering spaces in the bathroom are:
    in front of/behind the door at least 180 cm x 154 cm;
    in front of the toilet 250 cm x 145 cm;
    in front of the washbasin 180 cm x 166 cm;
    left of the toilet 100 cm x 70 cm and right of the toilet 22 cm x 70 cm.
  • There are handles which can be folded up on the right and left of the toilet.
  • The washbasin has limited wheelchair access.
  • The mirror can be seen while standing or sitting.
  • The shower is accessible without thresholds.
  • The maneuvering space in the shower is 140 cm x 132 cm.
  • A shower seat is available or can be provided if required.
  • There are grab handles in the shower.
  • An alarm trigger is not present.

Room No. 5 (multi-bedroom)

  • The maneuvering spaces are:

  • There are handles which can be folded up on the right and left of the toilet.
  • The washbasin has limited wheelchair access.
  • The mirror can be seen while standing or sitting.
  • An alarm trigger is not present.

Public toilet for people with disabilities (upper floor)

  • The maneuvering spaces are:
    in front of/behind the door at least 200 cm x 135 cm;
    in front of the toilet 267 cm x 152 cm;
    in front of the washbasin 196 cm x 174 cm;
    left of the toilet 110 cm x 70 cm and right of the toilet 35 cm x 70 cm.
  • There are handles which can be folded up on the right and left of the toilet.
  • The washbasin has limited wheelchair access.
  • The mirror can be seen while standing or sitting.
  • An alarm trigger is present.

  • The entrance is visually rich in contrast and recognizable by a tactile change of floor covering.
  • All evaluated areas usable by the guest are well illuminated, i.e. bright and glare-free.

  • The signage is designed in clearly legible and contrasting font.
  • There are glass doors without safety markings.
  • An outgoing emergency call in the elevator is confirmed audibly.
  • The stopping position is not announced by spoken commands.
  • The operating controls are visually rich in contrast and tactilely detectable.
  • Alternatively stairs are available.
  • At least at the first and last step, stairs have visually contrasting edges.
  • Steps are not visually rich in contrast.
  • Almost all stairs have at least a handrail on one side.

  • In the dining room there are tables with bright and glare-free lighting, on which there are no lamps standing or hanging that restrict the field of vision or eye contact.
  • There is no seating area with low background noises (e.g. seating corner, separate room).

Room No. 4 and 5

  • There is at least one electrical outlet available near the bed.
  • The ringing or knocking on the door is not indicated by a flashing signal which can be perceived in all rooms.
  • WiFi is offered.
