Hotel "Modi"

All areas relevant for testing meet the quality criteria of the label "Accessibility tested - partially accessible for people with walking disabilities". 

Some information on accessibility are listed below. For more details, please see the test report at the end of the text.

• The main entrance is accessible without thresholds or steps. The two identical entrance doors (vestibule) are opened without any effort (light barrier).
• The reception counter is 113 cm high. 
• All passageways/doors in the hotel area (except for the wellness area) are at least 90 cm wide. 
• All evaluated areas that can be used by guests are accessible at ground level or by elevator.
• The elevator cab is 125 cm x 240 cm. The passage width of the elevator door is 110 cm. There is no horizontal control panel (height of the control units 90 cm to 124 cm).
• In the restaurant "Rackls Café" on the ground floor there are wheelchair accessible tables.

Room 102 with sanitary room (double bedroom) on the 1st floor

• The manoeuvring space in front of essential immobile furnishings is 120 cm x 180 cm, 200 cm x 170 cm to the left of the bed and 103 cm x 170 cm to the right.
• The height of the bed is 65 cm.
• The manoeuvring spaces in the sanitary room are as follows:
  • at the door, in front of the toilet and the washbasin at least 120 cm x 120 cm;
  • to the left of the toilet 30 cm x 54 cm, to the right 56 cm x 54 cm.
• Handles that can be folded up are provided on both sides of the toilet.
• The washbasin has limited wheelchair access. The mirror can be seen while standing or sitting.
• The shower area at ground level is 100 cm x 160 cm. A shower chair and horizontal grab handles are available.

Public toilet for people with disabilities in the basement

• The manoeuvring spaces in the toilet are as follows:
  • at the door, in front of the toilet and washbasin 160 cm x 146 cm;
  • left of toilet 39 cm x 69 cm, right 147 cm x 69 cm.
• Handles that can be folded up are provided on both sides of the toilet.
• The washbasin is wheelchair compatible. There is no mirror.

Wellness area on the 2nd floor

• All evaluated doors and passages in the wellness area are at least 80 cm wide (exception: doors to the changing room with 68 cm, to the infrared cabin 59 cm, to the Finnish sauna with 71 cm).
• In the changing room, the manoeuvring space is 146 cm x 88 cm. The narrowest passage width is 88 cm. Seating is available.
• The shower area at ground level is 104 cm x 185 cm. A shower chair and horizontal grab handles are not available.

• Assistance dogs are allowed.
• The main and rear entrances are visually rich in contrast and can be recognized by a tactile change of floor covering.
• The evaluated rooms and corridors available to the guest, the elevator and the stairs are brightly illuminated and glare-free.
• In the elevator, an emergency call is confirmed audibly. The stopping position is not announced by speech. Operating elements and signage are rich in contrast and can be detected tactilely.
• Staircases have handrails, but no high-contrast step surfaces. There is no tactile contrast between the floor covering and the staircases.
• There is no information available in Braille or prismatic writing.
• Control elements are tactilely detectable everywhere and visually rich in contrast almost everywhere.
• Paths are visually rich in contrast almost everywhere and are predominantly marked with tactile markings or the walls can be used for orientation.
• Aids offered: reading aids (reading glasses, magnifying glasses, etc.)

• In the case of an audible alarm, there is no clearly visible flashing light or flashing signal.
• There is no audio induction loop.
• In the elevator, the emergeny call is confirmed audibly, but not visibly. Alternatively, stairs are available.
• In the rooms 102 and 202, at least one electrical outlet is available near the bed.
• The ringing at the room doors is not indicated by a flashing signal.
• WiFi is available.
• The restaurant "Rackls Café" on the ground floor has tables with bright and glare-free lighting, on which there are no lamps standing or hanging that restrict the field of vision or eye contact. There are no seating areas with low background noises.
• Information is available in written form.

• The name or logo of the establishment is clearly recognizable from the outside at the main and rear entrances.
• A business card with address and telephone number of the hotel is visibly displayed at the reception.
• There is no menu in the restaurant.
• Information is not displayed with pictograms or pictures. There is no information in easy language.
• There is no colored or pictorial guidance system.
