Handicraft Museum Deggendorf

Description

In eight departments, the Handicrafts Museum shows regional and supra-regional handicraft culture as well as the changes in handicrafts since pre-industrial times.

The Craft Museum is located on the edge of Deggendorf's old town, the gateway to the Bavarian Forest. It can be reached on foot in just a few minutes from the city center. An underground car park is located directly opposite the museum entrance. The permanent exhibition provides an overview of regional and national craft history in eight departments. The departments cover the topics: History of Crafts, Museum Print Shop, Apprentice - Journeyman - Master Craftsman, Women in Crafts, Curricula Vitae of Craftsmen, Wood Crafts in the Bavarian Forest, Crafts on the Water - The Tanners and Crafts in the Industrial Age. Regularly changing special exhibitions deal with a wide variety of topics from historical crafts and modern arts and crafts. In addition to the permanent and special exhibitions, the Handicrafts Museum offers a wide range of educational programs for children, school classes and adults.
