Description

Every year, the Großes Kurhaus hosts numerous top-class events such as spa concerts, operas, operettas, theater, musicals and cabaret.

The Great Kurhaus Bad Füssing is located in the beautiful Kurpark and is accessible via ground-level entrances with automatic doors partly with ramp. Parking spaces for the disabled are available at the main north entrance and in the underground parking lot. The spacious foyer with comfortable seating areas can be reached by elevator. Toilets for the disabled are available. Inductive listening is possible in the Great Hall with 960 seats. The reading room with a large selection of daily newspapers, restaurant, cinema, game room, and various recreation and conference rooms are located here. 

Right next door are the Small Spa House, the casino and the spa square with numerous places to stop for refreshments and stores.

Some information on accessibility are listed below. For detailed information please see the evaluation report.

  • Three marked parking spaces for people with disabilities are available at the main entrance (space size: 350 cm x 500 cm; distance to entrance approx. 32 m).
  • The surface of the car park and the outside paths are easy to walk and drive on.
  • A further seven marked parking spaces are located in underground car park 1 (space size 240 cm x 550 cm, distance to entrance 9 m) and two parking spaces in underground car park 2 (space size 250 cm x 480 cm, distance to entrance 8 m).
  • Access from underground car park 2 to the Großes Kurhaus is via 2 ramps with a maximum gradient of 5%.
  • The cabin of the lift from the basement to the ground floor is 110 cm x 140 cm. Control elements are not located on a horizontal control panel (height of the control elements: 110 cm to 120 cm).
  • The main entrance is accessible without steps or thresholds. 
  • At the main entrance in the foyer inside, there is a 5 m long ramp with a 10% incline and a max. walking width of 130 cm. A handrail is provided on both sides.
  • From the Kurpark side, the Großes Kurhaus is accessible via an external staircase with handrails. A ramp with a 4 % incline is available in the foyer from this side.
  • The box office in the foyer is 106 cm to 206 cm high, the cinema box office counter 109 cm. There is no equivalent communication possibility in a seated position.
  • The main Kursaal is accessible without steps or thresholds via side doors (opening and allocation by service staff). Designated wheelchair spaces are available.
  • All raised rooms that can be used by guests are accessible at ground level or by lift (exceptions: cinema, entrance on the Kurpark side/cactus garden, gallery in the foyer).
  • All raised doors and passages usable by guests are at least 90 cm wide (exceptions: internet café with 80 cm door width and conference room Hans-Carossa-Zimmer with 78 cm door width).
  •  There are no revolving or rotating doors.
  • There are wheelchair accessible tables in the restaurant-café.

Public toilet for people with disabilities in the Großes Kurhaus, ground floor

  • The manoeuvring areas are:
    in front of the washbasin 217 cm x 250 cm;
    in front of the toilet 248 cm x 160 cm;
    to the left of the toilet 100 cm x 55 cm;
    to the right of the toilet 163 cm x 57 cm.
  • There are grab rails to the left and right of the toilet.
  • Both grab rails are flipped-up. 
  • The washbasin is accessible from underneath at a height of 67 cm and a depth of less than 30 cm.
  • The mirror is visible while sitting and standing.
  • There is a cord as an alarm trigger.

  • Assistance dogs are not allowed.
  • The main entrance and the entrance from the "Kurparkseite" are visually rich in contrast and can be recognized by a tactile change of floor covering. The two glass entrance doors (vestibule) open automatically.
  • Glass doors are usually marked with safety markings. There are no carousel or rotary doors.
  • In the elevator from the basement to the ground floor, the outgoing emergency call is confirmed audibly. Alternatively, staircases with contrast-free steps and handrails are available.
  • Paths are visually rich in contrast everywhere and are marked with tactile markings almost everywhere or the walls can be used as orientation.
  • The evaluated and usable areas for the guest are almost everywhere brightly illuminated and glare-free (exception: access to the cinema).
  • The signage is designed in clearly legible, high-contrast writing.
  • There are no obstacles, e.g. objects protruding into the path/room.
  • Path boundaries are usually tactile and visually contrasting, there are no ground indicators.

  • There is no visual alarm in the building.
  • An audio induction loop is available in the large concert hall.
  • In the elevator from the basement to the ground floor, the outgoing emergency call is confirmed audibly, not visibly.
  • In the restaurant/café, there are bright and glare-free tables at which there are no lamps standing or hanging that restrict the visual field. Seating areas with low background noises are available.
