Some information on accessibility are listed below. For detailed information please see the evaluation report at the end.

  • There are two parking spaces for people with disabilities.
  • The administration building with ticket office, museum shop and public toilet is accessible without steps.
  • All doors/passages and paths that can be used and raised by the guest are at least 80 cm wide.
  • Some buildings can only be reached via thresholds or steps. 
  • Exhibits and information can be viewed mainly while sitting.
  • The counter is no more than 80 cm high or there is an alternative way of communicating while seated.
  • Seating is available.
  • There is a public toilet for people with disabilities, which can be accessed from one side (at least 80 cm). There are folding grab bars to the left and right of the toilet.   
  • Guided tours are offered for people with walking disabilities and wheelchair users. Advance registration is required. 
  • Mobile or fixed seating is available for people with walking disabilities that can be used during the tour.

  • Assistance dogs are welcome.
  • The stepless main entrance is visually contrasted to the surroundings and can be recognized by a tactile floor covering change. The entrance door is a glass door and marked with safety markings.
  • On the outside paths there are usually visually contrasting or tactilely detectable sidewalk boundaries. There are no floor indicators.
  • The exhibits/stations in the outdoor area are usually visually rich in contrast.
  • The steps and stairs in the buildings are not visually rich in contrast. Handrails are partly available.
  • No tactile information (Braille or prismatic signs) available. An audio guide is available to provide information
  • Guided tours are offered for people with visual impairments. There are exhibits to touch. Reservation is required.

  • There is no visually perceptible alarm.
  • There is no audio induction loop at the checkout counter or exhibition area.
  • Information on the exhibits/stations is provided in writing.
  • There are tables with bright and glare-free lighting, on which there are no lamps that restrict the field of vision or interfere with visual contact. Areas with low background noises are available.
  • Guided tours for people with hearing impairment are offered. Reservation is required.

  • The contents of the guided tour for people with cognitive impairments are easy to understand or are explained in a way that is easy to understand (e.g. visually).
