Bayern-Insider Andreas Hemmeter an der Strandbar am Brombachsee
Experience the Franconian Lake District fully accessible

Andreas Hemmeter, the inventor of “Mei Leni,” a portable backrest for beer garden benches, comes from Weißenburg in Franconia. His favourite spot is the Franconian Lake District, with the Großer Brombachsee lake reservoir. There, he recommends the accessible trimaran ship “MS Brombachsee.”

Boat trips on the Lake Brombachsee

Andreas Hemmeter is the inventor of the portable backrest for beer garden benches, which he has named “Mei Leni.” In his workshop in Weißenburg, he produces these attachable backrests, featuring a heart-shaped handle, made from recycled materials. With his innovation, which makes sitting in a beer garden or festival tent much more comfortable, he is helping to preserve Bavaria’s festival culture.

In his free time, as a Bavaria insider, he enjoys spending time in the Franconian Lake District. When asked for tips in his region, Andreas Hemmeter recommends, among other things, a trip on the trimaran MS Brombachsee, which offers comfort for everyone:

“A trip on the Großer Brombachsee reservoir is a lovely experience on the trimaran. The boat stops everywhere: in Pleinfeld, Ramsberg, Enderndorf and Allmannsdorf. You can board and disembark at any stop. The trimaran is fully accessible: It has a lift, so you can reach each deck without any issues. So it’s absolutely no problem for wheelchair users, prams or various trailers.”
