Description

As the most beautiful flower mountain in the Allgäu, the Fellhorn enjoys a legendary reputation. After a short drive through the Stillachtal valley behind Oberstdorf, you reach the bottom station of the cable car. The restaurants at the middle and top station can be easily reached by wheelchair and elevators.

The Fellhornbahn offers handicapped accessible parking and elevators. In addition, there is a WC for people with disabilities in the mountain stations. The Schlappoldsee mountain restaurant is located directly in the Fellhornbahn mid station with a large sun terrace and free sun loungers.The restaurant at the mountain station has a magnificent view. Wide accesses lead to the sun terraces with wonderful viewing spots. There are resting benches at particularly beautiful points in nature. The mountain show 2037 offers an exciting insight into the flora and fauna of the Allgäu Alps.

Gondolas

  • Doors and passages are at least 88 cm wide (exception: Fellhornbahn II 8 gondola with 69 cm).
  • Fellhornbahn I - Gondola between bottom station and middle station (summer operation): The footprint for wheelchair users is 317cm x 330 cm. The access (19 cm step) is also possible via a ramp. In addition, service personnel will help you get on board.
  • Fellhornbahn II - 8-seater gondola between the valley station and the middle station (winter operation): The entrance to the Fellhornbahn II is via 3 steps. In winter the height of the steps is compensated by the snow. Employees assist in overcoming the steps. The passage width of the car door is 69 cm. The floor space for wheelchair users is 113 cm x 158 cm. If necessary, the company will be set up very slowly so that there is enough time to get started. The cabin is electronically marked and the employee is additionally informed by radio that a corresponding gondola is on its way when entering or leaving the cabin.
  • Gipfelbahn - Gondola between the middle station and the summit station: The space for wheelchair users is 250 cm x 470 cm. Access is also possible via a ramp. Service personnel is also available to help with boarding. The distance between the climbing edge and the entrance/exit is 15 cm.

Bottom Station

  • There are three designated parking spaces for people with disabilities (350 cm x 500 cm).
  • The building of the bottom station is steplessly accessible.
  • The various levels of the station can be reached by lift (car 110 cm x 140 cm).
  • The counter counter is 90 cm high.
  • Seating is available in the "Wunderwelt Fellhorn" film room. There is sufficient space for wheelchair users.

Bottom Station: Public WC

  • Doors and passages are at least 90 cm wide.
  • The manoeuvring spaces are
    in front of the toilet 143 cm x 156 cm,
    in front of the washbasin 156 cm x 143 cm,
    left of the toilet 109 cm x 70 cm and
    right of the toilet 81 cm x 70 cm.
  • There are grab rails available on the right and left of the toilet. The grab rails can be flipped-up.
  • The sink is wheelchair compatible. 
  • The mirror can be seen while standing or sitting.
  •  An alarm trigger is not available. 

Middle Station "Schlappoldsee"

  • The building of the mid station is accessible via a threshold of 3,5 cm.
  • The different levels can be reached by elevator (car 200 cm x 180 cm).
  • The checkout counter is 121 cm high.
  • There are tables that can be driven under in the restaurant "Schlappoldsee" and on its terrace.

Middle Station "Schlappoldsee": WCs

  • Doors and passages are at least 90 cm wide.
  • The manoeuvring spaces are
    in front of the toilet 164 cm x 125 cm;
    in front of the washbasin 134 cm x 134 cm;
    left of the toilet 38 cm x 70 cm and
    right of the toilet 134 cm x 70 cm.
  • There are grab rails available on the right and left of the toilet. The grab rails can be flipped-up./ 
  • The sink has limited access. 
  • The mirror can be seen while standing or sitting.
  • An alarm trigger is available. 

 Summit Station

  • Access to the exhibition room, the WC and the restaurant is infinitely variable; leaving the summit station to the outside is only possible via a staircase with 9 steps.
  • The exhibition room "Bergschau" is accessible by lift (cabin 150 cm x 150 cm, no horizontal control panel).
  • Public WC: The movement areas next to the WC are 74 cm x 69 cm on the left and 95 cm x 69 cm on the right. Folding handles are available on both sides. The washbasin can be driven under, the mirror can be seen while standing or sitting. There is an alarm trigger.
  • The summit restaurant has wheelchair accessible tables (maximum height 80 cm, wheelchair accessible at a height of 67 cm with a depth of 30 cm).

 Summit Station: Public WC

  • Doors and passages are at least 90 cm wide.
  • The manoeuvring spaces are
    in front of the toilet 152 cm x 152 cm,
    in front of the washbasin 152 cm x 152 cm;
    left of the toilet 74 cm x 69  cm and
    right of the toilet 95 cm x 6cm.
  • There are grab rails available on the right and left of the toilet. The grab rails can be flipped-up. 
  • The sink is wheelchair compatible. 
  • The mirror can be seen while standing or sitting.
  • An alarm trigger is available.

  • Stairs have at least a handrail on one side.
  • There is no menu available in large print or braille.

  • There is a seating area with low background noises (e.g. corner seating, separate room).
