Description

The Edwin Scharff Museum is located in Neu-Ulm and is a house for art lovers as well as for children and families. It combines an art museum with permanent and special exhibitions and a children's museum under one roof.

  • The underground parking garage with parking spaces for people with disabilities is located directly on Petrusplatz.
  • All rooms and facilities that can be used by guests are accessible without steps/at ground level or via a ramp or elevator. 
  • All doors/passages that can be used by guests and are raised are at least 80 cm wide.
  • Exhibits and information are mainly visible from a seated position. 
  • Media guides are available.
  • Seating is available.
  • There are two public WCs for people with disabilities, which can be accessed from at least one side (at least 80 cm). Folding grab rails are available on the left and right.   
  • Guided tours are offered for people with walking disabilities and wheelchair users. Advance booking is necessary. 
  • Mobile or fixed seating is available for people with walking disabilities, which can be used during the tour.

  • Assistance dogs are welcome.
  • The signage (for orientation) is designed in easy-to-read, high-contrast lettering.
  • All areas are brightly lit and glare-free.
  • An outgoing emergency call in the elevator is confirmed acoustically.
  • The first and last step of a staircase have horizontal and vertical contrasting edges. Stairs have a handrail on at least one side.
  • Information on the exhibits is visually rich in contrast.
  • A media guide with an audio tour for blind and visually impaired people is available.
  • Tactile museum map and tactile brochure at reception. 
  • Guided tours are offered for people with visual impairments and blind people. Advance booking is necessary. 
  • During the guided tours, tactile exhibits are integrated.

  • An outgoing emergency call in the elevator is only confirmed acoustically. Alternatively, stairs are available.

  • Guided tours are offered for people with hearing impairments, but not for deaf people. Advance booking is necessary.  
  • Guided tours with FM equipment are available for people with hearing impairments (e.g. headphones, neckloops). 
  • A media guide with a tour with videos in German sign language is available.
