All areas relevant for testing meet the quality criteria of the label "Accessibility certified - accessible for people with walking disabilities and wheelchair users".  

Some information on accessibility are listed below. For detailed information please see the evaluation report.

  • There are five parking spaces for people with disabilities.
  • The Langwied S-Bahn station is 700 m away. 
  • All rooms and facilities accessible to guests are step-free/at ground level or accessible via a ramp or elevator. 
  • There are no slopes steeper than 6%.
  • All doors and passageways used by guests are at least 90 cm wide.
  • The reception counter is 105 cm high. An alternative means of communication while seated is available.
  • Exhibits and information are primarily visible while seated.
  • Seating is available.
  • There are designated seats for wheelchair users in the concert hall.
  • There are two public restrooms for people with disabilities, both of which are accessible from either side (at least 90 cm). The grab bars in the restrooms are fold-up.

  • Assistance dogs are welcome.
  • The entrance area is designed with high visual contrast.
  • The signage (for wayfinding) features easily readable text with high contrast.
  • All elevated areas accessible to visitors are illuminated with bright, glare-free lighting.
  • An emergency call made from the elevator is confirmed with an audible signal.
  • Steps do not have high-contrast edges.
  • Staircases have at least one handrail on one side.
  • Information about the exhibits is designed with high visual contrast.
  • Information is not available in raised lettering or Braille.

  • In the event of an audible alarm, there is no additional visible flashing or strobe signal.
  • There is no audio induction loop system. 
  • An emergency call made from the elevator is confirmed only by an audible signal. Stairs are available as an alternative. 
  • Information about the exhibits is provided in writing or through photorealistic displays.

  • The name of the Kunstkraftwerk is clearly visible from the outside. 
  • The destinations of the trails are within sight, or trail markers are placed at intervals that ensure they are always visible.
