Description

Behl's Genusshotel in idyllic Blankenbach offers its guests a unique vacation experience in a barrier-free atmosphere. The traditional distillery in the heart of the village is perfectly adapted to the needs of people with disabilities.

The hotel has wheelchair accessible rooms and bathrooms as well as an elevator and stair lifts. Handicapped parking spaces are available throughout the hotel area and the garden area is also designed to be barrier-free.

The culinary offer in the hotel restaurant is a treat for every taste. Fresh, regional ingredients are used to create delicious dishes and special diet and allergy menus can also be prepared on request.

In addition to the culinary highlight, the hotel also offers wellness and relaxation facilities such as massages, sauna and whirlpool. Excursions to the surrounding area can also be organized.

  • There is no parking space for people with disabilities.
  • Stepless access to the building is via the side entrance.
  • All other evaluated rooms that can be used by the guest are accessible at ground level or by elevator.
  • The size of the elevator cab is 105 cm x 140 cm. 
  • The reception counter is 115 cm high. 
  • Doors and passageways are at least 90 cm wide.
    Exceptions: The door to room 19 is 81 cm wide, the bathroom door 77 cm wide. The doors to the public toilets are at least 70 cm wide. 
  • In the breakfast room and restaurant, there are wheelchair accessible tables.
  • There is no toilet designed for people with disabilities. There is a public toilet, which is accessible with max. one step and has a door width of at least 70 cm.

Room 16 ("Williams Christbirne"), double bedroom

  • The manoeuvring spaces are:  
    in front of essential stationary furnishings (e.g. wardrobe) 300 cm x 117 cm;   
    left of the bed 74 cm x 161 cm, right of the bed 83 cm x 161 cm. 
  • The manoeuvring spaces in the bathroom are:  
    in front of the toilet 116 cm x 127 cm;   
    in front of the washbasin 200 cm x 127 cm;   
    right of the toilet 55 cm x 71 cm, no manoeuvring space on the left.  
  • There are grab rails available on the right and left of the toilet. The grab rail on the right of the toilet can be flipped-up.  
  • The shower area at ground level.
  • The manoeuvring space in the shower is 108 cm x 100 cm.
  • A shower chair is available, but there are no grab handles in the shower.
  • The washbasin is wheelchair compatible and the mirror can be seen while standing or sitting.

Room 19, double bedroom

  • The room door is 81 cm wide.
  • The manoeuvring space in the bedroom is at least 150 cm x 150 cm in front of essential immobile furnishings, 75 cm x 162 cm to the left of the bed and 82 cm x 162 cm to the right.
  • The bed is not wheelchair accessible at a height of 15 cm.
  • The bathroom is not designed for people with disabilities (very small manoeuvring spaces, no grab rails, etc.).

  • Assistance dogs are not allowed.
  • The main entrances is visually rich in contrast. 
  • External paths usually do not have visually contrasting or tactilely detectable sidewalk boundaries.
  • All evaluated and usable areas for the guest are well illuminated, i.e. bright and glare-free.
  • There are no visually contrasting or tactilely detectable floor indicators available.
  • There are glass doors without safety markings.
  • An outgoing emergency call is acoustically confirmed in the elevator. The stopping position is not announced by spoken commands. Controls are not tactile.
  • Alternatively stairs are available.
  • Steps are not visually rich in contrast.
  • Stairs have at least a handrail on one side/handrails on both sides. 
  • The menu font in the restaurant is straightforward and visually rich in contrast.
  • There is no menu available in large print or braille. 
  • Aids offered: reading aids

  • There is no visually perceptible alarm.
  • There is no audio induction loop.
  • An outgoing emergency call in the elevator is confirmed audibly.
  • Alternatively stairs are available. 
  • Free WIFI access is available in the evaluated rooms. At least one electrical outlet is available near the bed.
  • Knocking at the room door is not indicated by a flashing signal.
  • In the dining room there are tables with bright and glare-free lighting, on which there are no lamps standing or hanging that restrict the field of vision or eye contact.
  • There are no seating areas with low background noises (e.g. seating corner, separate room).

  • The name and logo of the establishment are clearly recognizable from the outside.
  • The objectives of the paths are always within sight or signs in visible distance are available.
  • There is no information available in easy language.
