Bayerwald Animal park
Description
The Bayerwald Animal Park in Lohberg am Großer Arber - an experience for the whole family
It was created in one of the most beautiful regions of the Bavarian Forest between Osser and Arber. The enclosures, which are species-appropriate, fit seamlessly into natural woodlands with old trees, streams and swamps. The aim here was to create a natural forest of broken, dead and decaying wood with small biotopes in a small area. In the naturally designed enclosures, animals live here whose habitat are old, near-natural forests: Wolves, lynxes, wild cats, otters, moose, reindeer, a herd of bison, capercaillies, griffon vultures, owls, woodpeckers and small birds, snow hares and much more.
There is probably no comparable facility that more impressively reflects the animal life and habitats of the Bavarian Forest.
Our zoo shows you over 400 animals of the Bavarian-Bohemian border region in about 100 species in their natural environment.
