Arberseehaus at the Great Arber Lake
Description
The Princely House of Hohenzollern built the Arberseehaus in 1904. Between the 1950s and 1980s in particular, the building was rebuilt and renovated several times. Various extensions to and in the house meant that guests could also be accommodated in the upper part of the building. For a long time, the Arberseehaus served as the clubhouse for curling clubs from all over the Bavarian Forest, who held their European Championships on the Großer Arbersee.
The new building is based on the old Seehaus, with mosaic windows, round arches and the attractive timber construction combining the charm of the old Arberseehaus with a modern arrangement.
The Arberseehaus was built to be barrier-free and offers toilets for people with disabilities as well as a comfortable elevator and also
- a large kiosk area with pedal boat hire
- a wonderful winter garden
- and a large sun terrace.
There is also a registry office in the new Seehaus. Around 80 bridal couples say “I do” here every year and then celebrate with up to 200 guests.
Discover the magnificent lake landscape of the Großer Arbersee with its floating moor islands and the imposing Arberseewand on a 1.7 km walk.
Afterwards, you can indulge in culinary delights in the newly built Arberseehaus and enjoy the view of the lake with coffee and cake or a snack.
